Response:

The business has responded to your complaint. Please see below:

This letter is in response to a complaint we received regarding [redacted]. Our Company was very clear with these customers, as we always are, that we had several other painting jobs to finish prior to starting their home. Their home would not be started until the projects booked prior were completed, one of these being a job at a large [redacted] in [redacted] consisting of painting 80 decks and 40 exterior units.

We had given [redacted] an excellent price and it was agreed prior that they would be willing to wait the extra time in order to go with our company. Unfortunately there was a tremendous amount of unforeseen rotted wood, which was behind almost all of the chimneys on the roof and other areas that needed to be replaced on the job in Brewster and extra coats of paint were required due to this. In addition to these unforeseen complications.

It is difficult to find good help and we do not want to just hire just anyone unless we can be sure that they will meet our high expectations, and are capable of living up to our stellar reputation for quality service. We called and explained this to [redacted], and also that this Spring had many rain days and we still had a substantial amount of work left to finish on these jobs and that we were still delayed.

During this entire process, we continued to inform the client that we would gladly refund there deposit if they needed to have the work done sooner by another contractor that they had received estimates from. We also informed them that we would take an additional $250.00 off of the price as a courtesy for waiting. The day before we finished the job at the complex, we called up the client to inform them that we were ready to start there painting project the following day and assured them it would be completed to their satisfaction. [redacted] put her husband on phone and he explained that he did not want us to complete the painting job and is no longer in need of our services.

Immediately a check was issued for the full refund and personally couriered over to their home and hand delivered to [redacted]. We pride ourselves in great customer service and we are upset we have not lived up to the [redacted]s expectations. We have been in business for close to 20 years and to the best of our knowledge have not had any other complaints filed. In conclusion this job was booked months prior to the [redacted]s accepting the estimate and was completed can provide proof of this if needed.

Kirk who I think is the owner is a totally irresponsible business owner. I own a company as well and know what it takes to do the right thing for the customer. He admitted his guys did a job wrong...this was back in October 2014. Then he says he is going to handle it and still...nothing. Here we are in June 2015 and his junk from the previous job is still in the front of my house and he has zero decency just to get the job done so we can both move on. Total loser, total loser company.

Kirk, the owner, is a [redacted], to put it lightly. First of all his workers show up at odd hours, not the agreed upon time, and he was unapologetic when I called him to say that was unacceptable. He actually LAUGHED. The job was going to take more than one day and his guy left all his stuff spread out in my bathroom and the area outside of it. We actually ended up telling him to forget it and put all his guys stuff outside and called a PROFESSIONAL to handle the job. By the way it took over a week for someone to come pick up their materials. Absolutely ridiculous. Luckily I had a guy from [redacted] redo and complete the work and I was very happy with the results. So thanks Kirk and the clowns that work for you for helping me to seek out and find a more trustworthy company!
