Review: This business is a scam. He takes your money up front and you don't get your computer back. When you try to complain, he doesn't answer the phone. When you finally get him on the phone, he tells you to call between 4 and 5PM. When you call between 4 and 5PM, he doesn't return your call. I just got on a blog that says he is doing this to everyone and charging exhorbatant prices to pick up your equipment which may or may not be fixed. He asks for $75.00 up front and tells you your computer will be ready within 3-5 business days. When you complain to him, he says you should have paid $85.00 for faster service. It has been 3 weeks and no word from him. He said he was backed up and hadn't gotten to it yet. We asked him to pick the computer up and get our $75.00 back so we could take it some place else. Then he suddenly said the tech was working on it. That was a week ago after waiting 2 weeks to hear from him. I am going to call the police today and see if they can help me get my computer back. If I go to small claims court, that will cost me more money. I just want my computer back and a refund of $75,00 for work not performed. Now I am worried that the computer may be harmed thru retaliation in which case, I would want the cost of a new or comparable computer. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I want my computer back and my $75.00 up front for services I did not receive and any other monies that he will probably claim I owe him for non performance and bad business practices e.g. not returning phone calls and no estimate on repairs.

Review: My daughter brought her Iphone 4 to New Orleans Computer Repair on [redacted] on 9/7/13 to have her cracked screen repaired. She gave a $75.00 deposit and was told they would call when ready. After 2 weeks, she started to call to get the status at which time she would get an answering machine or an answering service. She left SEVERAL messages with both to have someone call her with the status of her phone. For 3 weeks NO ONE returned her calls. I tried to call and no one returned my calls. Therefore, on 9/30/13 I went to the establishment at 10:15am, the lights were on but no one answered the door. There is a camera on the door that apparently lets them see who is there. I left and called the number on the sign and got the famous answering service - which is not even located in New Orleans. The representative stated that the hours are 10am to 4pm but do not except walk-ins and that it was appointments only. So I made an appointment as if I was a new customer with a new problem. I was given a 12noon appointment. My husband and I went to the establishment at 12noon. The gentleman (business card names him as [redacted]) et us in, asked what service we needed. My husband informed him that we were there to get our daughter's phone. The phone was not fixed, ** stated he was still waiting on Apple to send screens, the screens are on back order and should be in by Tuesday. My husband kindly asked ** to give us the phone, the $75.00 and when the screen came in we would return so that he can fix it. ** told us the $75 was nonrefundable. My husband insisted he give him the $75.00 for not carrying out his service, ** stated he could not because we did not have the card used. I stated I would return with the card. I came back at 3pm with my daughter and her card. ** was walking out of the office and I stopped him and demanding the refund. He search his credit card gadget for my daughter's transaction and supposedly did the return; however I asked him to send me the confirmation, and he did not.Desired Settlement: We want our money back. I called Apple and another repair shop and both said that the screens are available. The repair shop located in Metairie - [redacted] - said the can change the screen in 20 minutes while you wait.

Review: I found New Orleans Computer Repair online. I called and made an appointment to bring my computer in to get a new computer screen. I dropped the computer off on 04/08/14. Mr. [redacted] gave me several choices for screens to order and I selected one. I signed a contract for him to do the repairs and left an $85 deposit for him to do the work. The contract that I signed stated that the work would begin in 3 to 5 business days. A week later I called to see if the computer had been fixed and was told that the screen had not come in yet but that he would call me as soon as it was repaired. After another week had passed with no word on the computer I looked at yelp reviews on this business and found that my experience was not uncommon. There were multiple reports of people taking their electronic devices to Mr. [redacted], paying a deposit, and after weeks had passed, no work had been performed. I called another computer repair place and was told where to order a new screen and that when it arrived to bring it in to be repaired. I called Mr. [redacted] and made an appointment to pick up my computer. My fianc and I picked up the computer the next day,4/24, and asked that the deposit be returned as no work was done nor was work intended. I was told that the deposit was non refundable according to the contract. My fianc ask to see some proof that he had ordered the computer screen and Mr. [redacted] showed us the contract that I signed but provided no proof of having ordered the screen. He later emailed us the contract but still provided no evidence. I got the screen I ordered on 4/26, 2 days after ordering it and it was repaired 2 days later by the new computer guy. He repaired it the same day that I took it to him and then delivered it to my home. I know that I signed a contract but I believe that a contract is void if one party has no plans to up hold their end. I feel that Mr. [redacted] never intended to do the work. It appears that he never ordered the part and reviews from others suggest a pattern of behavior.Desired Settlement: Having read multiple reviews online, there seems to be pattern of behavior. When contracted, Mr. [redacted] collects non-refundable deposits from his customers but then never initiates the promised work. According to some reviewers, weeks would pass, and when they returned to collect their devices, they were met with hostility. Though I would like for my deposit to be refunded, my expectations of such are low. I would like, however, for Mr. [redacted] to be prevented from further fraud and theft.

Review: In July 2013 I contacted New Orleans Computer Repair about fixing my tablet. I was told that I would have to leave a $75 deposit and it could probably be fixed in a couple of days. After dropping off the tablet it took me months to get in touch with the same guy who I dropped it off too. Everytime I spoke to him he said it would be fixed soon. In January I went over to his office where he proceeded to open the tablet in front of me and said he would order the part that day. On yesterday 2/11 after waiting 45 minutes as he pretended to look for my tablet he pulled out the same open and unrepaired tablet. I requested my deposit back, and he refused.Desired Settlement: I would like my $75 returned.
