I paid for an incomplete service that didn't properly replace the water valve system and its functions. The poor job also damaged my sprinklers valve.
On August 28, 2018, the water valve system in my rental house, located at ***, failed. I needed it to be replaced ASAP so my tenants could have running water. Of the many companies that offer this service, I chose New Pipes Inc. since they were available early, and after inspection upon arrival, promised to finish the job in 2 hours. However, after a 6-hour delay, due to insufficient parts, the job was finally finished at 10:40 pm. I left exhausted but relieved thinking the problem was at least resolved.
The next day, my tenants noticed the sprinklers were leaking. My gardener identified the valve as the root cause for the leak. A different technician of New Pipe Inc. came to inspect the issue, and observed that the water pressure was at 110 psi. Any professional would have known that this is well above average and could cause significant damage to the property and should have done a thorough check before leaving.
Despite these observations from the second technician, New Pipes Inc. denied any responsibility. Irregardless of the damage done to the sprinklers as a result of the poor service from the previous night, I had to pay $550 for a service that did not fulfill what was promised: the water valve system was not properly replaced and functioning.
Furthermore, not only has New Pipes Inc. overcharged me for an incomplete and bad service, but also has not provided me an invoice with detailed job descriptions for the services I was charged for. As a consumer, I am entitled to a detailed receipt with all necessary information, which I will need for both my personal records as well as tax purposes. I have sent numerous requests via email for this official receipt, but New Pipes Inc. is once again unprofessional, and no longer communicating with me.
Due to the unprofessional service from New Pipes Inc, I no longer want to do any business with them anymore. I had asked another company, Almaden Valley Plumbing, to do an inspection and they confirmed that the high water pressure and improper installment of the water valve system that caused damage to the sprinklers was indeed caused by the poor job from New Pipes Inc. The water valve system and damaged sprinklers now have been properly replaced by Almaden Valley Plumbing. Therefore, I want to request a refund from New Pipes Inc, due to an incomplete job as well as causing additional damage to my property.
NPI was contacted by the customer because her shut off valve had failed. She was having the city perform a pressure test of her line and when the valve was turned off, it became frozen in the closed position. We explained that due to the late time in the day, we could replace her shut off valve but would need to return to replace or install a prv valve due to the hour. She was unaware if she had one and we would have had to source the part.
We gave her an estimate to replace the shut off valve only for $550.00.
We installed the valve. The next day she advised that the pressure was too high and it was affecting her sprinklers. We immediately dispatched and were onsite within the hour of her call. WE then gave her an estimate to replace her prv valve. She declined to have the work performed.
Our intention was to solve the immediate issue of her tenants not having water overnight. We have not had any emails from her or phone calls. We attempted multiple times to reach her to help resolve the situation but she has not responded.
Because we value our customers above all else and even though we believe her claims to be false, we are going to proceed with issuing her a refund of $550.00.
