N.E.W. Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Reviews (1)

We purchased a home in September and the previous home owners had used this company for various plumbing issuesWe actually used them in Spring for a minor plumbing issue in upstairs bathroomIt had been a quick fixWE THOUGHT - We *thought* we should use their services again when the job was done quickly and well for a decent priceCOULD I HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG?
There was a "liberty lift" system in our downstairs basement - it had been designated as a sump pump in all of our home purchase paperworkWe called N.E.Wto come diagnose the problemThey told us our SUMP PUMP (we did not know it could be called anything else at this time) had essentially given outOur master suite is downstairs and waste water/contaminated water had flooded the entire downstairsThey said they could replace the sump pump for a few hundred bucks and we'd be good
They sent plumbers outOne must have been an apprentice? They were doing the job and swearing and arguing the entire time - something my husband was not impressed with at all - but eventually four hours later got the sump pump replacedAll the while, the ended up flooding our basement a second time with waste waterWe wouldn't have been terribly upset - being that we understand our plumbing downstairs is difficult to work around - but we already had Serv Pro recovering our basementThey could have ruined thousands of dollars of equipment - which they knew was going to be there when they arrived
As it turns out, they did not warn us that the sump pump wasn't actually put in properlyIt didn't even fit! So we couldn't use any of the downstairs plumbing - WHICH WAS NEVER COMMUNICATED TO USSo we did a load of laundry a couple of hours after they leftand it flooded our basement for a *third* time - while there's recovery equipment in our basement! We're lucky to have no caused any electrical issues as the result of their careless work
So we contacted N.E.Wimmediately complainingThe following morning the plumber calls me - and tells me that he expected this to be a problemI asked why it wasn't communicated to us and he just stutters his way through some half-assed explanation of "well the sump pump you had isn't made any more and we' couldn't find the right one or the right sizewe hoped this would work until we found a better option." Excuse me? You thought I could just not use my plumbing downstairs - WHERE I SLEEP BY THE WAY, AND WHERE MY HOME OFFICE IS LOCATED - for however long it took your to 'find a better option' while also not telling me this?
It gets better form here, folks, because it's been one week by the time he tells us hasn't actually fixed the issueIt's another week before they finally get someone out to our house for a quote on just putting all of our plumbing into the main line - the way the previous home owners *should* have done it to begin withThis man's name is Charlie - and he's the only one with any decency in this damn company
He come out when my husband and I are both comeSo he walks us through the two options we haveOne that leaves our sump pump tank in place and another that removes the entire system by doing a reservoir with the connection to the new plumbingThere was a miscommunication but we had apparently opted to leave the sump pump in place with proper cleaning after they run the plumbing into our main lineThat was fine as long as the work was done
Well, the 4th and 5th faces we've seen from this company show up to do the job two weeks later - so we've been without our laundry or second bathroom in use now for something like five or six weeksThey show up - takes them about five hours to do the jobI had worked four days in a row, each shift approximately 10-hoursI was tired, I was asleep off and on - which I apologized for and then asked them to explain what all they did because I certainly don't want them leaving without disclosing everything to meAll is good it seems and after that the plumbing works fine but
My whole house smells like fecal matter (which is the better of the words I could be using right now)Thinking that it's because we hadn't pulled the carpet out of our basement or lifted the vinyl, we didn't put much thought into itWe had to wait for the plumbers to be done - since they'd essentially caused two additional floods in my basement alreadyBut the smell is still there a few days after the new carpet is put in and the vinyl is cleaned with antibacterial solution
Turns out - the knob heads didn't even clean the inside of sump pumpIt's pressed against the wall so since they didn't tell us they'd cut the sump pump tank in half and left the other half in - we didn't realize there was human fecal matter caked onto walls that are exposedNow - I didn't disclose this at the beginning because it wasn't important to the review until this point - but we have two small catsThey are still kittens! And they can crawl into this tank areaSo we had bee
