New Scapes has responded multiple times to Mr. and Miss [redacted] listed complaint. In our final payment walk thru we gave watering and care instruction along with a 7 page landscape care sheet. We did our follow up service 5 weeks after our final payment.  Our fallow up...

service consist of checking all irrigation, fertilization of all plants and/ or turf, spraying of any weeds, view and noting any plants that are dead and/or dyeing, check lighting, check drain inlets,  trimming of any foliage and reprogram irrigation timer.  This service is a courtesy to our valued clients.  We did preform all noted services and replaced 11 dead plants. There were at the time 6-7 plants that looked unhealthy and we informed the [redacted]’s that they may die and if so we will replace them. We also informed them that they did not fallow our recommendation of adjusting their timer after two weeks after we finished.  We found that not only most of the plants have standing water at the bottom, but the turf needed an adjustment as well. The [redacted] still had the irrigation timer set to the original programed time of 3 times per day.  Mr. [redacted] did admit that he did not understand the irrigation timer programing and he had neglected to reprogram the time for all the landscape. At that time, we informed him New Scapes do not warranty over watering and it’s their responsibility to reprogram the irrigation timer. We did tell them that we would replace the 11 dead plants as a courtesy. We even called Mr. [redacted] in the evening 3 weeks later to help him reprogram the irrigation timer. I do believe that they were not misunderstanding us when we explained to them that we would wait and see what plants would die and what lived after the first replacement. I think they were worried that we would not come back at all as a pool contractor did with their pool installation. On 10-17-17 We did walk the job site with Mr. [redacted] and made note of the 8 additional dead plants.   As of 10-23-17 We replaced their 8 dead plants and even changes 6 plants out to a different type of plant to make sure they have success in their landscape. We have ordered their replacement light which is scheduled to arrive on 11-3-17.

I am rejecting this response because: There has Never been any discussion regarding the cement walkway.  Two of his calls to me came this week;  one after he received my complaint letter. The other 2 calls were in Nov. and Dec.2015We agreed to start the fence on Monday the 25th because of the rain, assuring that my property would not be exposed over the weekend.

Review: I am writing this letter in complaint of, in my opinion, the lack of professionalism and sloppy business practices you have demonstrated in your execution of timely job completion. I have enclosed a copy of the contract I signed on November 18, 2015 to have work done on my property. The contract states that the work will start in 3-4 weeks from the 11/18/15 date and will be finished 2-3 weeks from that start time. As of this date, no work has even been stated. There has been no communication from you as to why no work has been started. In fact, the only time I saw you after signing the contract was when you came by to collect additional monies for the job (under the guise of needing to order materials). You, sir, in my eyes, are a liar and a charlatan. I feel like I have been swept into one of the biggest Ponzi schemes every perpetrated; using my money and my materials to complete a job for someone else; someone else that you likely promised dates you couldn’t keep and put off like you have me. You present a much different image when soliciting the job than you do when actually getting the job started and completed. Your inability to manage your time and money reflect very sloppy business practices and show your lack of concern and professionalism towards your customers and for your reputation. Either return my money or get your crew out here and do the job that was contracted for; and if and when that date should ever arrive, DO NOT start something you cannot complete within the very SHORTEST period of time I see no reason, other than your lack of organization, that the job cannot be done in 3 maybe 4 days. I CANNOT and WILL NOT have the front of my property exposed indefinitely as you have done to the [redacted]’s. I have a young dog that patrols the property, as she is supposed to and I cannot leave her fenced in the back yard indefinitely or keep her in the house. Two weeks ago I walked out front early in the morning to collect my newspaper and noticed that someone had opened my gate and come onto my property in the night. Needless to say, this left me feeling very vulnerable and unprotected. Being on a corner makes his property very visible. I do not want it easily accessible as well.Desired Settlement: If you are incapable of getting out here and putting up the fence and the motorized gate as contracted for plus the concrete walkway, then do the right thing and return my money so I can find someone who is willing and able to do the job; do it now and do it right. You do not seem the least bit concerned that you have turned people’s lives upside down and created a huge anxiety where one first thought there would be pride and joy. That begs the question: have you ever truly completed a job? We’ll see. That is yet to be determined. [redacted]

Review: This company was suppose to do work at our house and said between 6 to 8 weeks of the date May 20, 2014. 9 weeks later they finally said they were going to come on the 10th weeks, then never showed up on that week and didn't call either, so I canceled their service and asked for my deposit back even after they gave me a bunch of excuses. They requested I send a certified letter stating that I canceled the contract and then they would send a check back to me. The letter was mailed on the 8th and no one was there to receive it. I also mailed the same letter to the P.O. box through regular mail. I have not seen any money or heard anything from them yet. I notice that the address on Revdex.com is different from the address on the contract, but it says its within a mile of it. So now I have no idea whats right.Desired Settlement: I would like a check for my full deposit of $321 for work they never did.

Response:

New-Scapes did give [redacted] a projected start date of 6 - 8 weeks. How ever our work load prevented our company from making that time frame. We did offer a $ 350.00 credit for [redacted]'s over run on our start time. [redacted] stated that she no longer wanted to wait and requested us to cancel her contract and send a refund. New-Scapes informed [redacted] she must send a cancellation letter and it would take up to 10 business day for a refund to be sent. New-Scapes did not receive the letter until 8-11-14. New-Scapes has sent a refund check to [redacted] on 8-18-14 in the amount of $ 321.00. New-Scapes wants to Thank [redacted] for her business and apologizes for the start time over run.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I received my check in the mail today, August 21st

I would highly recommend NOT hiring this company. Work began on January 13th for a project that Russell said would only take 8 weeks. It has been over 5 months and we are not even close to being done.

First of all, they started the demo without having the permits to build. Once we finally got the permits, the inspector had to come out 3 times until the work was finally approved. I ended up having my backyard tore up with mud and dirt everywhere until April 1st when they finally poured the concrete.

Our overhang was supposed to have 4 columns, they only installed 3. He did not seal the concrete, therefore the hot tub I bought in January still hasn't been able to be delivered. The concrete already has cracks in it. The columns do not look professional because each one has a different finish to it.

They forgot to cut a hole in the BBQ for a sink. When we brought it to their attention, they put the sink and ice chest holes in the wrong place. They forgot about the concrete foot rest on the built in BBQ. The hole they cut for the BBQ was the wrong size.

We were told there was no work being done because they are waiting for the cover to come in which was ordered a month ago. They still have a fire pit to finish, BBQ to stain, install appliances, install overhang, seal concrete and finish the landscape.

They do not respond to messages and the workers only show up half the time. Like I said, it's been a month since any work has been done, but when they were showing up, it was only like 3 days a week.

You would be crazy to hire this company.
