Review: I was served at the New Eye Vision Center ([redacted], provider) on 3/29/12. I was referred to [redacted] by my colleague to go and have an eye exam done. A yearly routine exam, which I knew was covered by my insurance – BCBS and their vendor [redacted]. I was also subscribed to the [redacted] plan to cover frames at that time. I was charged $85 at the office of [redacted] upon my leave, and I thought it was strange, but was hoping to get it back from my insurance plan later. I did not pay much of an attention at that time. I started to get these invoices from [redacted]’ office this year (2013) to pay another $30.70. I thought it was a mistake until I get my “final notice, or immediate action will be taken”. I called [redacted] office and talked to a billing person, who told me that my insurance did not pay anything so I have to pay. I called BCBS 3 times that day and spoke with 3 different reps to gain full understanding of the issue. Here is what I learned: The claim submitted by [redacted] was not coded correctly, so it was denied. I called back to [redacted]’ office to learn that they are not willing to change the coding. They even said it is not legal and it would be a fraud and they would get an audit. My insurance said that they cannot pay if the provider is not willing to change the coding for the service. They told me it is a choice the provider makes, and that they can correct it.

I am a US citizen in good standing. I have never missed a payment and have credit score of 804 for a reason. I hope I will not get my credit score ruined by them.Desired Settlement: I want to get the total of $105.70 back. I have paid both my health/vision insurance and the doctor for the same service now and do not see any sense in doing so. Why would one have insurance then?
