Mr. [redacted] wanted to purchase that particular vehicle... he has bought several cars from us in the past INCLUDING our "Back Lot" vehicles, which is what the Sunfire was... "Back Lot" vehicles are trades, etc that we do nothing with.  That is why they are priced the way they are.  They are...

purchased AS-IS and the customer signs a form that states that, as Mr. [redacted] did.  I also stated the same to Mr. [redacted] when they first started inquiring about said vehicle, and he said he understood (again, we have sold them vehicles in the past with the same stipulations - NO WARRANTY - AS IS.   We always encourage our customers to drive the "back lot" vehicles, which includes they can take them to their mechanic if they request, Mr. [redacted] DECLINED wanting to drive the vehicle before he purchased it, he said it was fine.  He started paying on the vehicle back in January and paid on it until March 31st.  He could have drove it from January until March 31st if he had wanted to.... he could have drove it the day he came in and picked up the vehicle with his last payment... he did not.  Mr [redacted] called us about this vehicle's issue, NOT Mr. [redacted].  The vehicle is titled to Mr. [redacted] not Mr. [redacted].  I spoke with Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] about the issue and they said the same thing.. that our policy is they are AS-IS NO WARRANY and he could have driven the vehicle or had it inspected and they choose not too. Also, which does not matter, but AS A MATTER OF RECORD, I was not the salesperson on this deal... if they look, the deal was done by [redacted]. Yes they did speak with me about the vehicle originally, but I was not the one that did the paperwork with Mr. [redacted] on March 31, 2017.

We fixed the car free for the consumer even though we sold it as is. It was fixed by the day after she brought it to us.

The reason Mr [redacted] called in is because I'm unable to hear and they know this. I have a cochlear implant but still have a hard time on the phone. Also I didn't drive the vehicle that day because I didn't have my driver's license on me also had only limited driving privileges until may 27th 2017. My limited driving privileges would have covered me to drive it from the Cort document I had but was unacceptable to them so that's why I didn't drive it.  Than on their wall it says you can only take a car for a test drive for the amount of 15 minutes or the police will be called. There was no way I could take it to a mechanic to have it looked at. The car was started and seemed fine. I didn't know about the rusted gas tank until I put gas in it and smelled the gas. So I took it to a shop to have it repaired but was told the leak was because the tank was rusted. So I made arrangements to get the gas tank replaced and that is the reason I found out about the rest. Also the car drives but as I said the mechanic was afraid to pull the gas tank because he didn't think he would get it back in cause it just kept crumbling. As far as it being a trade in they originally bought the car in 2014 from a auction house. Also new wave car company LLC does have a mechanic on site so the leak would have be found by their mechanic.
