New York Adjustment Bureau, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: We had been hit by hurricane Sandy on 10/**/2012. Insurance company inspected our damage right away and issued a check of forty something thousands dollar to us. I signed the contract with New York Adjustment Bureau, Inc to let them represent me to work on the claim with the insurance company in order to get the supplement of the missing items. They got into the case two day after I received the check. It is 10 days after I signed the contract. They never inspect the damage, never take a picture, never measure the size of the house, and seldom to answer the phone calls or respond the voice messages. On January **, 2013 I fax a letter to they which is from the insurance company saying that "We are concluding our activity in regard to this claim." They said they are still working on it and ask me to wait for the result. After few months, on April **, 2013 [redacted] sent me a letter saying that "however we are not requesting the full 10% which would be $4639.61 of $46,396.19. We are only requesting $1500." On June **, 2013, their attorney [redacted] sent me a letter to ask for retainer fee $4,636.91. As the result of their none performing, I didn't get any supplement of missing items since they got into the claim. Also I lost the chance to talk with the insurance company with those missing items of the claim.Desired Settlement: Stop asking for the retainer fee and apologize for their none performing.

Response:

If all the things were mentioned were true I could agree with [redacted]. Im assuming with all the confusion following Super storm Sandy, [redacted] does not remember the facts as they actually happened.

To clarify..

I contacted [redacted] a week after Sandy and was able to get one of my employees over his house a couple days later. At that point we inspected the property and took pictures of all the damage. WE (NY ADJUSTMENT) then reported the claim to All-state flood insurance. Which at that point the flood insurance company made an appointment with the insured to inspect the property. At that point I([redacted]) spoke to the insurance company about the estimate and moving the claim forward. A few weeks later the offer was sent out to the insured and us with a check going to [redacted].

After speaking to [redacted] about the claim and what is cost him to fix the property it was around the same amount and I indicated I could not get any more additional money with-out paid invoices. Considering there were items that are not covered (flood policy is limited) in the claim and he was being finically burdened I offered him a reduced fee thinking I was being kind. Apparently he thinks the opposite, but does not have his facts straight. After he screamed at me on the phone, I didn't want to get involved and turned to my lawyer for collections on service due.

Response:

Yes please show me all the records of the phone conversations that I had with the insurance company. You will never be satisfied over emails like this. Come to my office with all the records you have and I will give you a log of all the times I made phone calls and conversations with the insurance company over your claim. This is the only way we will be on the same page.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Since this case is in the legal proceedings, I don’t have to show you any of those documents or let you have a copy of them. All of those documents will show up in the court. The date of each document is very clear which showing that the check I got was issued before you got in the case, it is not like what you said “At that point I([redacted]) spoke to the insurance company about the estimate and moving the claim forward. A few weeks later the offer was sent out to the insured and us with a check going to [redacted].”
