New York Body Art Reviews (1)

Review: [redacted] arrived 45 minutes late to my wedding location. She provided no phone call or apology for same. She charged me an additional "insurance fee" of $175.00 in "case", and she said, "Well, things happen. I have children." I paid the $175.00 for said insurance and the supposed "insurance" was in the car with her!! Not even in separate cars. Which means I paid for an "additional provider" for my services that day. This was false information in the contract. Her demeanor was horrible, barking demands, etc. She charged me full price for everything, which I paid, not needing the added stress to my day. My makeup was nothing like it was at my trial. It was a horrible experience. When I went online to write a review, she replied "that I was fired by my photographer" and "no one else wanted to do my make up due to my disposition" and she "has proof of this as she spoke to my photographer and other artists I had trials with". I had no other trials for my makeup and hair and my photographer that appeared at my wedding was completely drunk ! I want to know who she spoke to and why she replied/made excuses for her unprofessional behavior and her lateness to my special day. She is a liar!!Desired Settlement: I want 75% of my money paid back to me in cash and her reply to my review about her online removed! thank you

Response:

In response to my client who we provided services for I am sorry that she was dissatisfied with the services for makeup and hair. The client was provided with a contract agreement stating all terms. The client signed to all of these terms. I have Revdex.com written statement from the the client, original contract, emails, text messages and pictures on file, so responses to most of the clients complaints will be written verbatim, and labeled as such.

IN RESPONSE TO "COMPLAINT BACKGROUND":

1) The client incorrectly labels "Purchase Date" in the Revdex.com complaint as Aug.**,2013.

-The Correct purchase date was July **,2013. I have her PayPal deposit/receipt info via PayPal.

2) The Client incorrectly labels with Revdex.com that she "Talked with company" Oct.**,2013.

-The Correct date and initial contact made by client to company was via email on Nov.**,2013 at 12:35pm.

IN RESPONSE TO "CUSTOMERS STATEMENT OF PROBLEM":

1) Complaint #1 verbatim from the client:

"[redacted] arrived 45 minutes late to my wedding location. She provided no phone call or apology for same"

-My response:

We were 10 minutes late, I did not call. I have my Verizon cell phone bill printed out from her wedding date. She called me at 7:07am (documented in Verizon records) in which I told her not to worry we were in the parking lot and had just hit a few minutes of traffic.

2) Complaint #2 verbatim from client:

"She charged me an additional "insurance fee" in "case"... "I paid the $175 for said insurance and the supposed "insurance" was in the car with her."

-My response:

This is not labeled or considered "insurance" within the contract. This is stated as an "option" within the contract and client opted and checked off the box stating; "Yes, I would like to book a backup professional." She then mailed me a check for $175 which is required prior to her wedding. My backup professional team member was waiting in parking lot, not in the car traveling with me. I have phone records via cell phone company of my phone calls to my “backup professional” as we were heading separately to the job. I would not have called her if she was in the car with me. I do not allow my team members to go in and set up ahead of me, so I assume that is where clients accusation stemmed from. Team member entered the job with me.

3) Complaint #3 verbatim from client:

"She charged me full price for everything..."

-My response:

There was discounted pricing, and the client agreed to pricing within our contract that she signed. She asked me if we could do lower pricing for the her "maid of honor" (I agreed to "Light hair" pricing at a discounted rate) , and her daughter who (at the time was 11) was priced within a range depending on thickness of hair, and complexity of design. She was still charged "flower girl pricing" not full price. There were no hidden fees, or additional costs. All of her lower pricing is in both our trial contract agreement, and wedding contract and both she signed and should have copies to refer back to.

4) Complaint #4 verbatim from client: "My makeup was nothing like it was at my trial...."

-My response:

At the makeup trial I have a face chart and every step of the makeup is written down and is extremely detailed. This is then replicated by me on the day of so that there are not surprises. I have an outstanding portfolio from countless pro photogs, and client review base that proves my work.

5) Complaint #5 verbatim from client:

"When I went online to write a review, she replied "that I was fired by my photographer" and "no one else wanted to do my makeup due to my disposition" and she "has proof of this as she spoke to my photographer that appeared at my wedding was completely drunk !"

-My response:

Verbatim from the review site response I rebutted with (and I have it printed and attached to clients file): "Other fellow vendors denied her services because of her disposition."

There is nowhere within my response that I mentioned any specific type of vendor (such as a [redacted]) other than her photographer. I did not ever speak with another makeup vendor about her and did not claim to. I never mentioned other "trials" in any statement I have written or verbalized. I was not referring to makeup or hair when I mentioned other vendors.

I did in fact speak to the original photographer she put in our contract on the date of her original email complaint on Nov.**,2013. He denied her services.

The reason I contacted her original photographer put in the contract was b/c I wanted to retrieve some photos of what she claimed was her "Club 54" appearance. She also claimed in an email to me (verbatim, and printed out) that, "I ran to my room and rubbed half of it off and redid it myself."

As the [redacted] and [redacted] of the company if I saw that what she claimed was "horrible" I would have immediately refunded her money for makeup only, and only for herself, not the bridal party. Bridal party was very happy and her stepdaughter (who we did makeup & hair on) sent me photos of herself and clients daughter (hair service) b/c they loved everything. (Printout of pix are in files)

The following statement verbatim, (also mentioned above verbatim) indicates to me that my client may be lodging complaints against other wedding vendors. This is clients statement verbatim: "has proof of this as she spoke to my photographer that appeared at my wedding was completely drunk !"

Client went into a complaint about her photographer that had nothing to do with our services. We are not affiliated with any photographer, nor did we stay for the wedding after makeup & hair was complete to witness anyone drunk. Appears to me as if she has her vendors mixed up.

6) Client complaint #6 verbatim:

"She is a liar!"

-My response:

I have all of my facts in order, down to every print out of every email, text, phone call, check written, and 2 contracts signed by client. I have printouts of my responses on review site mentioned and emails. Client never expressed dissatisfaction with services until a much later date, and at her wedding thanked us and gave us hugs!

CLIENT SETTLEMENT:

VERBATIM from client : I want 75% of my money paid to me in cash and her reply to my review about her online removed! thank you

My response to "CLIENT SETTLEMENT":

Clients primary complaint originated with the "backup professional" in which she suggested a refund in her Nov.**,2013 email. This was completely optional and she had to consciously read the details and "check off" that option within our contract, and she did. I cannot refund the money I have paid out to another independent contractor for providing services that were optional to my client, and not forced upon her in any way.

Her makeup and hair was packaged together (hair was not originally a complaint) at $300 for both. Meaning, makeup was $150. If client can provide me with her wedding day photographer's contact info so I can retrieve photos the claimed to be "horrible" job, I will consider refunding 75% of the "bridal makeup only" and will refund it via company check.

I do not feel that Bridal party service fees should be refunded, travel fees, or backup professional fees the client opted for.

Review on online wedding site was removed by the wedding site itself because of clients failure to be able to verify her complaint.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[redacted] and [redacted] were, in fact, 45 minutes late. As I do not have a printout of my phone records as [redacted] does, I did not think it necessary to keep such information. If needed, I will get that information as soon as possible!! Please so advise if I need to get this information to you and I will get it immediately.

I have three witnesses to this effect. When I called [redacted] her reply was, and I quote, "WE are stuck behind a truck (laughing-telling me to relax). WE should be there in about 20 minutes. Don't worry, Christine." Again, I have three witnesses to this phone call and the time of [redacted] and [redacted]'s arrival. They both spoke about "getting Starbucks" after as they were headed to another wedding after mine. Her "detailed" reply is totally untrue. I would not be wasting my time with this if it wasn't.

As for the complaint about the "insurance"...it is described in the contract as "Additional Coverage" (well, insurance) that someone will be there...her explanation to me about this "Additional Coverage" was that it was "insurance" that someone will be there in case she cannot make it. As I was the bride to be, nervous about all aspects of the wedding, I questioned this again. [redacted] said, "Well, I have kids...you never know." As I WAS impressed with her work at my trial, I went along with the "Additional Coverage." Coverage which was in the same car as [redacted] the day of my wedding. They both arrived in the same car.

[redacted] mentioned a Backup professional - of course you need a back-up professional for a wedding! There is a bride, MOH, and two girls...How can one person do this in such a short time. Of course I purchased the Additional Coverage. The "additional coverage" was in fact, the back up professional.

My makeup was nothing as it was at my trial, as I have photos also. I did not have "silvery white" eye shadow at my trial and would have NEVER agreed to this. I advised [redacted] I like browns, autumn hues, etc. and my makeup at the trial was satisfactory and I loved it. I did not have silvery white eyeshadow. As I said, I was pleased with my trial. Unfortunately, I did not receive such service for my wedding.

As far as the complaint on the [redacted] website, since my review was "disputed" by [redacted], they removed my review and response to [redacted]. It was at this time that I contacted the Revdex.com and felt a complaint was necessary. This is the reason why I did not go ahead with the [redacted] website's request from me to send them my contract, because I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com. I have the email from the website dated 12/**/13. As for her explanation about her responses to my review, [redacted] did say that "I was denied by other vendors due to my disposition." As I mentioned, the review and response were taken off the website and I have contacted them to obtain a copy of [redacted]'s response to my review. I have not heard back from them. Again, if I can provide this to you, I will...at your request. I would appreciate that.

I would like $300.00 (bride) makeup refunded and the $175.00 Additional Coverage fee refunded.

I cannot provide wedding photos from my photographer as, unfortunately, my photographer was intoxicated at my wedding and took extremely poor photos which were sent to me in CVS envelopes. [redacted] mentioned that I associated her with my photographer, and they had nothing to do with eachother except for the fact that they did poor jobs. And yes, my stepdaughter (19) did post all kinds of photos of herself, she is 19 years old and was happy to get her hair and makeup done. She was satisfied, I WAS NOT!

I will not subject any of my other vendors to [redacted] or her requests.

In any sense, the makeup in my wedding photos is makeup that I had to re-do when I went back to my room. I have 'TWO' witnesses to this.

Unfortunately, [redacted] is making this difficult for me. I could not, at the time of the completion of my hair and makeup, mention anything to her as other vendors began to arrive (flowers, DJ, photographer, etc.) and we were already running over 15 minutes late! I paid [redacted] for her services and she was on her way with [redacted] to the next wedding. She was accepting the money as I had four other people talking to me at the same time. A wedding can be a hectic day for a bride.

Please take all my requests into consideration and I will get that information to you as soon as possible.

I am not accepting [redacted]'s response. As I mentioned, I would like the total of $475.00 refunded to me. Since, she will not refund 75% of my money, I think this is a fair request.

Thank you for your consideration.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

I am sorry that consumer is still not satisfied, and my original response addressed consumers complaints. These complaints were reiterated by consumer in her current response and my offer rejected. Makeup seems to be her primary complaint, and I will offer her a 100% refund of $150 on her makeup (makeup & hair are packaged at $300 within both contracts that client signed). I will also consider refunding the full $300 for hair & makeup combined if client can provide me with professional photographs for my review. If in fact the hair is not comparable to the hair done at her trial (original photos are printed and attached to her file/contracts x2) I will issue a refund for both.
