New York Laser Group Reviews (1)

Review: I was recommended to New York Vision Group by a very well known and liked Doctor in the mid 2000's I had No other complaints This is my first complaint and it involves [redacted] (no last name) Manager/Supervisor at New York Vision Group and the Optometrist at Atlantic Eye wear. 1/*/12 I went back to New York Vision/Laser Group I was examined and found to need new Lenses: the Lenses cut on 12/*/11 were too strong. I made The Office Manager/ Supervisor aware and asked her to note my chart considering They cut a second pair of Lens and these are those that I am wearing Now I made the optometrist there after a week that I still was not seeing out of theses Lenses I took all the necessary steps to help in resolving this by going to follow- up appointments and doing all the testing the doctors at New York Vision/ Laser Group suggested and to no avail. Here it is From 12/*/11- 5/**/13 I am wearing glasses that I can not see out of clearly. Someone on New York Vision Groups staff named "[redacted]" stated she was the manager ,told me I could bring my receipt and get a refund of $250.00.(The Total that Atlantic Eyewear has is $500.00paid in full01 01/**/012).On 5/**/13 I had an appointment to see The Eyelid Specialist for a follow-up appointment: biopsy results. I had my receipt and the credit card holder with me and told the Optometrist that [redacted] said she was the office manager and said I could come in today being that I had an appointment, get My refund. [redacted] got [redacted] NY Vision Group Office Manager/Supervisor, I reiterated what [redacted] had told me to [redacted] and that I choose not to do business with them because of his and her prior treatment, not addressing my situation nor providing me with adequate customer service after all My medical coverage was not helping with the cost of the frames nor Lenses. My question is To Whom It May Concern:If New York Vision Group/Atlantic Eyewear knew my eyes were fluctuating in vision why were the second lenses cut and why was I charged and Not refunded before 2013?Desired Settlement: I do hope [redacted] will address this with his Office Manager/Supervisor and The Optometrist about Customer Resolution Policies along with Professional Behavior.I will not be going back to [redacted] due to The Office Manager/Supervisors Treatment and The Optometrists Treatment.

Response:

To Whom It May Concern:

This is in response to a complaint that was filed by [redacted], ID# [redacted].

[redacted] came to the optical on 12/*/2011 to purchase glasses. At that time she gave an eyeglass prescription to Atlantic Eyewear. She purchased 2 pairs of glasses, a VIVID 358 priced at $371.00 including lenses and a pair of Ebony EEC5 glasses priced at $129.00. The prescription was used for both pairs and patient took both pairs. On January *, 2012 the patient returned because she was not happy with her glasses' prescription. We changed her prescription free of charge and she picked up. the glasses with new lenses on January *, 2012. After that she broke the arm on the Ebony EEC5 and she picked out another frame, Perry Ellis 233A, which we provided at no additional charge (which she never picked up.)

Atlantic Eyewear did not hear from [redacted] again until 5/**/2013 when she and her father came into the optical demanding $250 as a refund for her glasses (please note this is more than 18 months after she picked them up with new lenses). I explained to her that we do not do refunds but we can:

a) change the lenses or, b) she can pick out a new pair of sunglasses equivalent in value. I showed her the sign that is in the optical stating that there are no refunds, exchange only, as well as stated on the sales receipt.

Once I received the letter on complaint from the Revdex.com, I tried calling [redacted] to settle the issue. She never picked up the 2nd pair of glasses so I can refund $129.00 immediately. If [redacted] wants the remaining amount of $121.00, she just needs to return the pair that she has. Please note that we will not even be able to use these since they are quite well used, however, it is neither fair nor equitable for us to refund money when she continues to have the glasses.

I would like to settle this problem as well, but I have not been able to speak to [redacted] to rectify the problem.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to call me at ###-###-####.

Sincerely,

Practice Administrator Atlantic Eyewear
