face="'Comic Sans MS'">The [redacted]. complaint by [redacted].

Here are some photos of [redacted] project...one of the "complainers" who simply did not like me nor my workers. This may be considered for reply at duane st?
The client who complained was [redacted]. These people withheld more than $2500.00 and fired us before end of job. Continuos harassment by phone asking and demanding answers to questions not related to the project such as why we had new employees on her jobsite and why the project took longer than expected. The start of project was delayed due to the deck being sanded and oiled. That put us in difficult situation since our carpenter was getting married and we missed our window of opportunity. We hired new carpenter although I wanted to await our regular man to return to ensure a successful outcome to the work. 3 days into the project [redacted] wanted the planters to be built into separate boxes to facilitate easy removal. I had the idea to use panels that would come apart but she and her husband didn't like the idea. The workers ere questioned constantly and if a question came up they could not answer, we were accused of being disorganized and uncoordinated. [redacted] complained continuously to my workers and several times stopped them from working just to talk and ask redundant, unnecessary questions such as how long they worked for me or how much experience they have. This took at least 1 hour or more out of each workday. One day my lead carpenter took 3 hours speaking with [redacted] and showing her what the wood might look like if the fascia was vertical as opposed to horizontal. Wasting expensive IPE wood and expensive time. I have photos of this. Why would a woman who wants a job done quickly delay it by constantly stopping the workers from working?
I went above and beyond by bringing [redacted] samples of stain colors, samples of wood to show what it looked like oiled etc. from my own time. Traveling and parking, then meeting in her apartment in Manhattan can take half day and I repeated this process several times to consult for the project and meet her designer etc. The time and expense never crossed the mind of the client and no respect for my time and effort was ever acknowledged. Her designer would be paid handsomely for this service.
The claims as to how long the project took are inaccurate and misleading.

Reasons for the time it took to do the work:

1. The client fails to mention that they went on vacation midway through the project and we waited two weeks for the return, then, we had begun another project and had another week to return...3 weeks right there. It is not like the house was open to the elements or there was an emergency, dangerous situation etc. It is only that [redacted] is a spoiled woman who wanted the garden "Right away" . There is no "garden emergency" and we always try to finish a job as quickly as possible.

 2.  and that secondly, we had to completely disassemble the entire wood structure which was 80% finished in order to change the style that [redacted] required. Then [redacted] would constantly harass me over the phone with 3 way calls connected to her husband or only between the two of us and begin repeating: again and again: You said it would take 4 days....you said it would take 4 days you said it would take 4 days.....so why did you say that? I'm recordin this cll so don't lie, why did you say 4 days....I got several calls to this nature and finally one day when we were trying to work out a way to finish the job....she began this again. I was in traffic in Brooklyn, growing weary and lost my temper. I cursed at both of them and threatened to never return again. Later, in the same conversation, I apologized.
Then, the next day....she called me to ask: You said it would take 4 days....you aid it would take 4 days.....

4. wet or severe weather: it is understood that rain or other weather can delay a project.

5. The work taking "4 days" does not mean 4 days from start to finish but we would need about 4 full work days to complete the work using my carpenter who has planter building experience and having no delays.
The work in all likelihood took about 8 or 9 days albeit divided into clusters of 1 to 3 days separated by weeks of no activity.
NYS law allows several days, even 30 or more from the beginning of project and beyond the expiration of estimated time to complete a project. In fact, for our interested viewers, I put forth this question to be addressed in the Revdex.com decision.

They ([redacted]) owe me money. Regardless of our personality conflicts or arguing, or claims of terrible things, we did make sure that the job was finished.
There was only a question of adding some flowers which do not cost $2500.00 and I told them clearly that if they are nice people I would give them (plant) flowers. This is not a requirement but a bonus stemming from my love of gardening.
Well, they weren't nice and didn't get them!
Seriously, we would have added some color however we were pressured to finish before a party [redacted] was having and focused on the most important aspects so that we would be in contract compliance.
The job is done and looks great. The photos of the work from start to finish show an organized, clean professional worksite and assembly of the structure to be used as a planter. The irrigation and lighting systems were both installed as well as the plantings. The sizes were pre approved by [redacted]. Plantings are as per contract or agred to by the client.

Basically all major components of contract are met and installed. Extra work was done and not charged for either such as special access for roofdrain cleaning
Very little remained to be done and we were basically ripped off. If this is a reply then please accept it. W should take them to small claims court and get paid. Now, there is no rating website for clients, or things would be different.

I am confident that if we were to go to court that I would be paid our money. I have in writing that we were not allowed to return and fired due to the fact that I am allegedly "Bipolar" according to text fro [redacted] and used profanity. Living in NYC one hears profanity on regular basis. The virgin ears I apologize for fouling.
Seriously, I did lose my temper and had reason to but should never curse when speaking to a client. I did not call the client any bad names, only cursed regarding the project. I am sorry for this and will do my best in the future to keep my emotions in check and mouth shut when being antagonized.

Lastly, I could have managed the project much better and effectively. I was hardly there and found that my workers could not be trusted to work with honor and integrity.
The entire bad situation would have been avoided if I had just been there at the job. [redacted] and [redacted] do have a valid complaint in that respect that I did not supervise my workers and mistakes could have been avoided. There is still no reason to not pay and again, this comes back to my mention of our father the good Lord our God.
We can all profess and complain, tell stories and make contests but in the end we have to answer for our actions. Not from the Revdex.com but to our creator. The only true judge of man.
Thank you for you concern over this wood planter box. We have the witness or testimony of workers such as [redacted] and others if you are interested.
Hopefully the photos of the work can show that we did a good job (the quality of work does not seem to be an issue in the complaint) however had a heated argument and several annoying comments ending in a parting of ways.

Review: I wanted to describe my negative experience of working with [redacted] and New York Plantings. Me and my girlfriend, a practicing landscape architect, hired [redacted]s firm to install a green roof designed by my girlfriend, on a house I recently purchased in Brooklyn. We found [redacted]s firm online. It has a very nice website, regularly updated blog and [redacted] was very responsive to our initial inquires. When we first met him, he was really friendly, professional and presented us with a good bid, so we decided to hire him. As soon as the 50% deposit was paid ($19k), his behavior changed. First he cancelled a planned weekend trip to a nursery, saying he was busy. Although annoyed, we didn’t complain, because it was a weekend after all. Next problem occurred when [redacted]s team came to bring green roof materials. They didn’t secure them properly and on the same day the materials were flying all over our street blown by the wind. As a result, we had police called on us. [redacted], when notified, wouldn’t even show up to the site. Then it turned out that contrary to his claims he wasn’t insured properly (he didn’t have workers comp). We didn’t let him work on the job till he would get proper insurance. [redacted] said it would take him a few days to get the policy but weeks later, and countless excuses later, it started seeming to us as he was deceiving us. So we demanded delivery of rest of the pre-purchased materials (soil) and were going to cancel the job. [redacted] kept telling my girlfriend he was too busy to deliver the soil and that he was working on scheduling a truck. When I finally called him myself to express my dissatisfaction, he physically threatened me using extremely vulgar language. But it seems like he got scared of potential issues resulting from his threats, and finally delivered the soil. According to our calculations, confirmed by multiple conversations with material suppliers, and generously accounting for the little delivery labor he did, we think NY Plantings still owes us $7k. [redacted] claims that his firm owes us nothing and justified it with prices much higher than his bid and completely outside the range quoted to us by suppliers. When we asked him to provide receipts he stopped responding to our calls and emails. It has been almost two months since we have heard from him, despite our repeated attempts to communicate with him.

Working with [redacted] has been the worst professional experience I’ve ever had, and this review does not come close to reflecting how bad this experience was. As I said, he has a nice website and is online savvy. Possibly he will write a reply to this review, justifying his actions and portraying us as unreasonable clients. He might even quote the Bible or use language of moral justice, which will look like words of an honest person. Truth is we were extremely patient with him and willing to accommodate him. If one digs a little deeper on various review sites, it turns out there are multiple reviews of people having basically the same horrible experience as us. There are also multiple complaints on New York Plantings on Revdex.com’s page. On the other hand, many of NY Planting’s positive reviews seem fake to me, some are written by [redacted] himself, some are from discontinued user accounts, some by the same woman that posts on their blog, and one is even from someone who lives in India. Their business street address is a post office, so good luck finding [redacted] if you need to see him in person. Contrary to what he told us first, he later said he lives somewhere in PA. Please for your own sake do not work with [redacted] Nappi’s firm. I believe people like him should not be allowed to practice this profession in New York City.Desired Settlement: New York Plantings need to refund us $7k. Or they need to provide a real bill for the services and materials they claim they provided, that we will then take and verify is not fraudulent or misrepresenting what was delivered.

Review: Todd Nappi of New York Plantings broke trust by failing to honor the terms of our contract. The overall flat rate contractual price for a penthouse garden project was $35,000. We had agreed upon payment of an initial third at the start of the project; another third when two-thirds of the work was completed; a final third after completion of the project. I paid Todd Nappi $25,000 altogether by the time the decking, pavers, planters, and fencing seemed to have been completed. Remaining to be done were the lighting, irrigation, installation of Forever Lawn VR, all plantings and soil, and oiling the deck. [redacted] complained that he needed more money to finish the project. [redacted] falsely led me to believe that he was sincere about honoring our contract and finishing the project. Against my better judgement I paid [redacted] an additional $5,000. At that point, [redacted] abandoned our project and was vulgar with me on the phone. He said, "You can shove your $5,000 up your [redacted] I have had no further dealings with [redacted].Desired Settlement: [redacted] must apologize to me and my family and refund us $8,250 for work not completed but paid for.

Review: We hired [redacted] @ NY Plantings to install a planter on our patio and plant both a privacy hedge and garden. He told us the project would take 4-5 days in full -- after almost 4 weeks and very disturbing behavior we were forced to fire the company as we no longer could deal with his lies, rantings or having our home/patio be a dirty work zone. As soon as 50% deposit was paid the owner became quite difficult to deal with. He first was unable to perform the deck prep work on the agreed upon date and told us to hire someone else to complete that as to not push the schedule. Then his team started the build our planter as one large piece instead of in 4 foot removable units as agreed upon ( there was a third party designer at the final meeting and this modular design was listed in our contract) - when I alerted the workers, they told me they had no such instructions from [redacted]. [redacted] then told me that changing it would cost him more and cause a delay and accused me of never discussing this with him - thankfully it was noted in our contract. When I approached him about complaints about workers ( there was a screaming fight between two workers on my patio as well as a fight between [redacted] and this guy inside my apartment via phone) he told us he could hire homeless bums off the street if he wanted to - it was his legal right - and to stop complaining. I was stunned that anyone would even say that. That is when the full lack of customer service came into play and it was clear he was only after trying to cheat his way into taking as much money as he could with no intention to properly complete our project to the agreed upon specifications. The excuses continued: too many projects that were more important than ours, he's sick, the truck broke down, he was angry so he was deciding to take a holiday. He was very vulgar with us - using profanity with both myself and my husband and clearly didn't care at all about the reputation of his business. The final straw was after we paid him majority of our planting budget and he only put in the ilex hedges instead of the full planting as we had agreed to (also in contract). One day he would say the hedge was all he agreed to (in must nastier words) - the next he would say he was sorry and he was coming to plant then he would not return our calls for days -- after several back and forth of this (he was actually already asking for the final payment via text despite nothing being completed!!) and since we didn't want to be verbally abused each time we spoke to him - we fired him and asked him to return funds from work that he did not complete.Desired Settlement: We paid [redacted] 13,481.51/15,379.45( balance was 600 for oiling, 937.95 remaining towards planting). He didn't complete the oiling ($600 - we had to make other arrangements) nor did he do anything more than put in an ilex hedge. We had prepaid him 3872.06/4810.00 of our planting budget and expect to be refunded for $1000 of our prepaid planting budget as we had to buy all the remaining plants/flowers and put them in ourselves. We also had to do all the related cleanup. Happy to share our contract with Revdex.com which outlines the planting details (again there was also a third party present at the meeting in which all planting details that [redacted] never delivered on were clearly discussed).

Review: New York Plantings took a deposit of $3,000.00 in April 2013 and neverhas returned my deposit.
