[Your Answer Here]
During the period that I needed to complete my Salesperson Course Proctored Exam, I repeatedly contacted NYREI personnel in regards to attaining a testing location in or around Albany, NY as the website stated would be possible. Not a single person gave me information on how to schedule a proctored exam in the Albany area. The only responses I received were that I would have to travel to NYC to complete the exam. I did make the three hour trip to [redacted] to complete my exam. However, this does not resolve the fact that I originally purchased the course under the understanding that I would be able to complete my Salesperson course proctored exam in the Albany Area. Regardless if NYREI has restored proctored exams in the Albany area the fact remains that at the time I purchased the course and took my completion exam, NYREI did not have a testing location in the Albany area and none of their staff were trained or had any knowledge of how to take care of customers who live outside of NYC. Clearly false advertising. Amazingly since making my complaint to the Revdex.com I have been contacted twice with in 24 hours by NYREI about scheduling a proctored exam. How do they not have record that I have already completed my exam at their main branch in [redacted]?

Review: I registered for NYREI online salesperson course based on the given information that a final exam proctoring location would be decided based on my zip code. I live in Albany, NY and NYREI only has location limited to the NYC metro area. I purchased the course under the impression I would be able to complete my course online and take the final exam at a location close to me via a third party proctoring location. After completion of the online salesperson course I made numerous attempts to contact NYREI via email and phone. After contacting an individual via telephone I was informed that I would have to drive 3 hours to NYC to take the exam during the week. Which I do not have time for. The course information page which was presented to me states " Upon course completion, the school administrator will assist you in locating a proctor. This location is based off of your zip code or in some cases, the school that referred you to [redacted]." This business has been unwilling to assist in any way.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for the course, including taxes. Since I am unable to complete the final exam due to their false advertisement of finding an appropriate proctoring location, this course is completely useless and is in my eyes a scam. There should be a clear statement indicating that an individual must complete the final examination at one of the locations in the NYC area.

Hello,

Since submitting my complaint, NYREI has corrected their website and rectified the problem. I would like to rescind my complaint.

Sincerely,

Review: I have been contacting New York real estate instititute for a refund of $445 for a course I registered but have never attended. However, my request was rejected and I am filing a complaint and requesting a direct refund in check for the following reasons:

1. When I first paid for the course, the link about refund policy was not visible. I suspect that the link was recently added to the course registration page.

2. The current policy is not reasonable. They issued me a credit for future use. However, as we all know, different states have different exams and regulations for real estate practice. As I am moving away from New York as well as the tri-state area, the credit is no use for me. They suggested that I can transfer this credit to someone else--however, why would someone use my credit if they can sign up themselves? For this special type of service (unlike a show ticket, gift card etc), there isn't even a market for me to do the transfer.

3. Customer service is lacking. I did not get a response until multiple emails and calls to different people.

Thanks in advance for handling this matter.Desired Settlement: Direct refund

Review: I purchased a deal through [redacted] to attend a 75 hour real estate course. I had trouble registering online so I contacted [redacted] about the situation and they were very helpful responded to my emails and phone calls in a timely manner, and explained to me the issue was with NYREI. I contacted NYREI and they advised me to email my voucher # to [redacted] which I did on 01/**/15. They claimed to respond within 48-72 business hours, I never recieved a phone call, email or text message regarding the issue I was having. Today is now 12/**/15 and I have been trying to get in contact with the appropriate personal there to resolve my issue, but every time I call I either get hung-up on and or sent to some random voicemail, which is totally unexceptable.Desired Settlement: To be contacted by the [redacted] to complete the process and with a complementary brokers license course

Review: On 6/**/15 was charged $190 for continuing education classes. I called Retc ###-###-####. I have used them in the past and have always taken classes at the [redacted] in Bayside. Was told that they merged with NYREI. I was told After I pay, could register online for classes in Queens. There were no classes in Queens but only offered in Brooklyn and Manhatten. I called about a week later to get a refund. Was told would get a credit in 2-3 business days. Called several times, left messages and no response back.Desired Settlement: Issue me a refund and an apology.

Business

Response:

[redacted] , I apologize for any confusion/issues you have experienced. We have a revolving schedule at all of our locations which doesn’t require you to actually register for courses individually. You can simply show up whenever classes are available. Our queens schedule is available on all of our websites including at [redacted] . As you can see there have been classes ongoing for as far back as our calendar goes. I have gone ahead and issued you a full refund. Thank you for your business!

Review: I bought a discount coupon for a real estate course. When I tred to start the course I was informed I can't start for a month. They said the sold too many groupons and don't have the space for everyone. I was given the option to pay $200 more for the same course and I could start right away.Desired Settlement: To be able to start the course right away.

Business

Response:

I find this complaint to be 100% and was filed just because student wants to get a better deal by filing a complaint. We have had over 3,000 people so far sign up for same deal and everyone is 100% SATISFIED. It clearly states in the deal that in order to take the live class (clearly limited number of seats) that a reservation is required, subject to availability and subject to change. All of this language was put in by Groupon since they also have a desire to keep all of their customers satisfied. The fact that this person did not read the details of the deal (which is only a few lines and not hidden but clear for all to see) and is upset that cant cut the line and start immediately is wrong. The 3,000 customers before this dont seem to have any problems waiting or they have chosen to take the online course and start immediately. Which is another option and we would be more then happy switching person to the online course for NO CHARGE and they can start immediately. I appreciate your time and consideration in this matter.

Sincerely,

Review: I purchased a sales person course at the end of September 2015. In November I found out we would be moving out of state and since then I have been trying to contact someone regarding a refund. I have received one email back let me know to call back again and I did. The contact info I had been given does not have a voicemail. I work as well and call on my breaks and lunches I have even called on days off and weekends. I have sent emails and asked if they could email me as well. I find this highly unacceptable and due to moving out of state I would like a full refund. I work for a real estate company myself and we would never be able to give this type of customer service.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund to my [redacted] account.

Business

Response:

This says second notice and we just searched our entire database and this is first time we are hearing about this. We also have no emails from the [redacted] except about her being excited to start the course. First have to check if she has started the course and secondly allegedly calling two months later for a refund is not acceptable. However this does not mean she will not get some sort of refund since we now have no choice but to play the Revdex.com game even if we are correct. Assuming she has not started the course and received no materials we will issue her a minus the $25 admin fee that has been in place for over 15 years

I have made attempts and have waited for return phone calls that I was advised would come and never did transferred to employees with no voicemails and told that they didn't know what to do please advise me once you have verified I have received nothing and started no classes. I understand the $25 admin fee and will be awaiting the refund of 370.00

Sincerely,

Review: I purchased a set of real estate test which was made by this company. Their website is [redacted]

They claims that they are guarantee full refund if I didn't pass the exam, which I really did not.

So I tried to contact them for several times and sent them email as well. No one answer the phone, no one response the email.

I am considering the website of this company is a Huge fraud.Desired Settlement: I need my full refund $49.99 back .

Thank you

Review: I used this company's website and paid them $49.99 for their real estate exam prep guide. Their policy states that they would refund me in full if I did not pass the test after purchasing their product.

"Risk Free Pass Guarantee

Thousands of students use our handy guide and sample tests to prepare for and pass the Real Estate Salesperson & Broker exams. If you do not pass your test, simply contact us with your failure notice and we will refund you in full." - [redacted] I have emailed them and tried calling them several times to find out where to send the form showing that I have a failure notice, but no one from the company will respond.Desired Settlement: I would like them to honor their refund guarantee, and refund my $49.99

Review: I decided to take courses at the NYREI Manhattan location. The staff and the classes are good. After I finished the classes I passed the School Test and failed the State Test. The instructor in the office told me that I have to take a State Preparation Classes $75 (cash only) and I will have unlimited number of classes on each Monday.First class I took with [redacted].Second class I had with [redacted] and [redacted]. The class was good, but I received the example of State Test without the answer. They promised me to e-mail the answers, but still didn't got it.On Nov ** I decided to take a last class with [redacted] and it was great, but in the middle of the class some person entered to the class and asked couple people (including me) to go to the office. In the office they told that I have to pay again and explanation - [redacted] left the school and now I have to pay again.I paid not to [redacted], I paid to the school for the unlimited tutoring for the state test. They didn't want to listen to me at all, no explanation. As of now I have to take another courses...to pass the testDesired Settlement: I need full refund, will go to another school more reliable school.
