Dear [redacted], I disagree with the company's response. The parole board never received the packet and neither did I. The fact that I was released has nothing to do with the work of Mr. Mario Vredenburg/Ms. Barrone; it was because of the merits of my case and what I had accomplished while in prison. Mr. [redacted] never contracted with our firm. As such, he is not now nor has he ever been our client. However, his mother, [redacted] was our client. Mr. [redacted]'s packet was delivered to the board of parole, and this is attested to by the fact that he was actually released by the board of parole....

His family engaged our services to assist him with obtaining parole, which we did do and he was released. Mr. [redacted]'s file was mailed to his correctional facility, Greene CF on 8/17/15. As this mailing of documents would have been larger than is allowed through the normal mail, it would have been diverted to the facility package room. After reading your complaint this afternoon, I contacted Greene correctional facility and was informed that Mr. [redacted]'s package file was closed, meaning he could not receive any more packages of any kind. Approximately one week prior to his release. When Mr. [redacted] was released from the Department of Corrections. He was asked if he wished to put in a mail forwarding order. I have been informed that he declined to do so. This would mean that the New York State Department of Corrections and community supervision would not forward the package to his release residence.  The facility is currently trying to determine the location on the package so that it may be returned to our office. When and if the packages received, it will be forwarded to our client, [redacted].  Mr. [redacted] did in fact receive a draft copy of the package, as did the board of parole. The New York State Board of parole received our package electronically and via facsimile as is standard procedure. Unfortunately, mail within the Department of Corrections is a very finicky process. Our office. However, is not liable for or responsible for the actions of a state agency, or they are inaction. Honestly, I see no foundation for this complaint and I also see no way that our office could be at fault. The pictures that he is referencing were included in his file, which was sent to his correctional facility as per his instructions. Please feel free to contact me should you need any further information and while I did mail the originals to the facility, I certainly have copies electronically and would be happy to forward a printout of the electronic copy should it be required. I would like to point out though that the documents in the file were corrections records and are no longer pertinent as the inmate has been released and is no longer under the jurisdiction of that department. Please note also that Mario Vredenburg no longer exists. She is now Antonia Barrone due to a gender transition. Simply put, [redacted] was not the first.
