After Ms. [redacted] purchased the car she informed us that the check engine light had came on and that it had an oil leak. This was about a week after purchase. We told her that we would have our local mechanic look at the vehicle for her and that we would pay for the labor as long as she paid for the...

parts. The diagnosis from our mechanic was a bad catalytic converter and a faulty idle air control valve. Locally these 2 parts came to the cost of $300. To save Ms. [redacted] money we informed her that we could get these same parts online for $150 and that we would order them and pay for them upfront and that we would let her reimburse us. In doing so it would take about a week to get the parts but she was more then welcome to pick the car back up and drive until the parts came in. She said she preferred to leave it at our mechanic because Ms. [redacted] lives in Milwaukee. It was by her choice that the mechanic had the vehicle for the time that he did.  After the repair was completed we offered to meet Ms. [redacted] on hwy 20 and the interstate to help with how far her ride had to bring her.  Also these replacement parts were ordered from a business eBay account we provided a printout with the name of the part and the cost of the parts as well as showed her the purchase prices in person on our phone. She had said that’s fine and paid the $150 reimbursement for the parts.  She later contacted us and said that the check engine light had came back on again.  We called our mechanic shop because at this point we had paid him the labor cost of what he diagnosed. He said he would have no problem looking at it again at no cost to Ms. [redacted].  She refused his and our help and asked for her money back.  We told her with what we paid in labor to him for installed parts we could not refund her but had no problem with helping her out to have the problem resolved. Once again she refused. She went on further to leave a negative review online that doesn’t tell the whole story and is even deceitful in parts.  We tried to help in many ways from meeting her with the car, ordering the parts to save her money, and paying the labor to have parts installed.  Sometimes on older vehicles repairs are not just cut and dry it might take a couple of times and for the vehicle to be driven to find exact issues.  Some people are unrealistic to think on a 16 year old car that everything will be perfect, that is why we are so willing to go the extra mile by ordering parts online and to save customers money. If an issue like in this situation where there is a repair and the check engine light comes back on our mechanic to understands that it’s an older vehicle and that’s why he offered to look at it again at no charge.
