Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
We brought our truck to Newberg Auto Works & Electrical as they advertised they were vehicle electrical specialists. Regardless of what previous work had been performed on our truck, we asked “ … to have all lights and flashers working.” and agreed to their required 2-hours needed to perform this work.Newberg Auto Works & Electrical stated they would not perform any work before providing an estimate and obtaining our approval, however we did not receive any estimate, diagnoses or status report along the way, only a phone call that the work had been completed, followed by their invoice stating: “ALL LIGHTS ARE IN WORKING ORDER”.Upon picking up the truck we found out that only some of the lights were operable; headlights, tail lights, turn signals, side lights and emergency flashers. What was immediately obvious to us was that the back-up/reverse lights were not working.Ultimately “all lights” includes all lights necessary to safely operate a vehicleWe believe it is the responsibility of Newberg Auto Works & Electrical to have made it clear to us what their understanding of “ALL LIGHTS ARE IN WORKING ORDER” means to them. After the fact to pick & choose which lights were and weren’t going to be repaired seems nonsensical. We ask that all lights be brought to working order or that our payment of $be refunded in full so that we may have this work completed elsewhere.Support documentation attached.Sincerely,*** ***

Two to three hour commitment was an estimateThey were very fortunate that we were able to fix all that we did in hours and only charging them for Along with all of the time we spent with them on the phone and also gave them free diagnostic I had a very long conversation before they even brought the truck in, about what our 2-hour commitment isI did not have them sign an estimate, they dropped it off over the weekendI asked them to email me their wish list, because they had several items to repair on their truck and it required quite a bit of detailOver the phone they told me more items they wanted doneWhat I should have done was sent him an estimate stating it was a 2-hour estimate it is for working towards getting all lights workingAt the three hour mark, not everything was workingWe went the extra mile and thought we got everything working, while only charging them for hours

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
Newberg Auto Works & Electric has not performed the work for which they have been paid, as NOT ALL lights are in working order.
We hired Newberg Auto Works & Electric to perform the following: “Electrical - to have all lights and flashers working.” We received an emailed invoice stating: “ALL LIGHTS ARE IN WORKING ORDER” which was paid by us the same business day.We request that this work be performed in a timely manner or that we be refunded in full so that we may have this work performed elsewher

I got phone call from these people they came from Portland area and they have a 1978 Ford pickup that and they told me that she tried to work on it herself and got nowhere, and got nowhere, she in fact made it worse. I told her boyfriend, I stated on the phone when anyone brings it in to us if its's...

electrical,  you can't determine the price over the phone. This gentleman called me up over the phone, I went through my spiel, I told them you're vehicle is older, there could be rust issues, broken wires, you just never know, it could be anything I do not explain all of it over the phone because that takes too much time. I ask people to bring it in for approx 2-3 hour for an estimate, we try to repair what we can in that time. And with wiring, wiring products don't brake the bank, we have quite a bit of wiring stuff here, that's what we do. You could spend under $10 in parts at minimum. I tell people we could find something at point B that could fix it,that has to get fixed it may not solve the problem we have to continue down the line and maybe at point K we find another problem and we can fix it. Or I'm calling you to say this is where we're at, this is what we found out, these are the parts and this is what more labor it could be. I always get approval from people. They went their long explanation, they've had other people try and guide them on fixing it. They said they have never taken it to a shop, they like to fix it themselves. They sated they recently bought a trailer, they were trying to wire it to the truck so they bought the parts and tried to wire it themselves, some people can do that other can't. They had a lot of requests, steering issues, how to make it pass DEQ, I asked her to email me her wishlist of everything she wanted done. They told me when she tried to work on Flashers, the headlights, marker lights, the lights on the vehicle stopped working. After a lot of work, we got the lights working, I didn't check their dome or glove box light, but all of the main lights that they told us about were fixed. We told her everything that the truck needed, we worked on it over 6 hours, and probably devoted another 2 hours in talking to these people, explaining everything in detail. They called and said they were going on vacation and would be gone for over 3 weeks, they wanted their truck back before. That makes sense, I want to be paid, I want it off our lot, they would not decide on whether or not they wanted the additional work that needed to be done actually done (tune up, trailer plug, etc), so they could decide once they bring it home. The truck was old, it was not worth putting any additional money into in the condition it was in. It also needed a new power steering pump, we also told them that. We told them the lights were working, and it would be parked along the street. The paid with a credit card over the phone. Then I got a phone call when they came to get it, I was not there, they stated the reverse tail lights weren't working. I don't know if they worked when they brought it in, but all of the other lights worked. However, when you put the truck in reverse, the reverse brake lights didn't work. I did not tell them those lights work, I told them all of the lights they discussed were out. On the invoice that I wrote up quickly just stated "all lights working appropriately". If I would have been able to drive the truck out, and I wasn't able to because the power steering is out, and it is very very hard to steer, I would've notice that those lights are out and I would've called them and let them know that additionally those lights are out and I would've asked them what they wanted us to do.They were at 3 hours with us, and they would need to decide. These people seem to think that 3 hours is all inclusive to everything. Not only did they get EXCELLENT customer service from us, they also got at least 3 hours of free work, continuously talking to them because she would ONLY talk to the mechanic. To be frank, that is not something we tested, and then they discovered those lights worked, but all of the others light we discussed worked. I offered for them to leave it here while they went on vacation and when we would check it out. They left for 3 weeks in our gated lot, we waited for them to get back and discussed their options, there are many possibilities, unless they gave us authority to do so and confirm payment, we won't do it, and they expected us to do the work for free.
