REGARDING COMPLAINT #[redacted]
In response to all the patient’s mother’s complaints:
1. Regarding the matter of fluoride treatment not having been formed:
According to the patient’s records and the treating dentist’s recollection, a fluoride...

treatment was, indeed, performed.
2. Regarding the patient’s claim that the three treatment planned fillings were not “cavities”:
In many situations, it is a matter of professional judgment, opinion, and philosophy whether small pits and/or stains in the fissures of a molar tooth should be filled or not. In the treating dentist’s professional clinical judgment, these teeth needed to be filled. In speaking with the treating doctor and from what we know of him and his treatment philosophy, he is generally very conservative about treatment planning fillings; if they were treatment planned, in his professional opinion they needed to be done.
2a. Regarding billing the patient’s insurance company:
The patient’s dental plan was a managed care plan. We are contractually obligated to perform patients’ basic dental care; i.e., exam, x-rays, cleaning, fillings at no additional cost to the patient nor to the insurance company, above and beyond the monthly flat fee we receive from the insurance company. This stated, there would, therefore, be no financial advantage to us in rendering care unless it would be absolutely necessary- even more so, if it is not in the patient’s best interest in receiving such treatment.
These cavities were on the biting surfaces of three of the patient’s second molar teeth. Braces are not generally placed on such second molars; as well, are never placed on the biting surfaces. Therefore, whatever “stains” were present, could not have been the result of the braces, as the patient’s mother alleges.
Further, x-ray images would generally NOT show decay on the biting, “occlusal”, surfaces of these teeth, unless they are very substantial. Taking new x-rays may not offer any further diagnostics and may not lend any additional value.
3. Regarding the patient’s desired settlement:
No reimbursement to the patient is in order because we did not receive any payment from her or the insurance for the services rendered; therefore, there should be no issue regarding our billing practices. The patient was treated with the correct standard of care, as is our practice with all patients we treat at our practice.
We do, however, regret any inconveniences that we may have caused the patient for having to wait for, perhaps, an unusual amount of time, always making every attempt not to make a practice of this.

They are horrible, Please don't go there. If I could have given no stars I would. There was a rotten tooth on the floor, the place and the so-called dentists are filthy. One dentist bust my lip so bad, it was swollen for 4 weeks. When I told him about it, he denied it and said oh you must have bitten it. WTF!. Then I had to go back and the lying receptionist said "yes I rescheduled you with the DR. Freud" but when I got there this so called dentist I can't remember his name, but he had thick thick glasses and ugly yellow teeth, it might be Megadick, something like that. Don't let this idot anywhere near you. So, on the 2nd visit, I'm went to this dentist office thinking ok I'm going to be dealing with Dr. Freud and this idot comes in. I jumped up and said no way, I'm dealing with you again. You're horrible. I told him I was suppose to see Dr. Freud, he said oh, ok andfaked like he was going to get him. I watched him walk to the end of the hall and come back to say he says he's to busy and he cant do it. I was LIVID! I said I don't want you touching me because you don't know what the hell you are doing! You busted my lip, I should've came back and busted your freaking lip. He says "OOh are you sure, you might have bite into it, I didn't do that" . I said just let me see someone else, he said please, please, let me do it. No one else is available and I'm just put on a crown, nothing else and I'm not even going to use any kind of tools on you. Well, didn't this idot file the crown down so low the metal is showing on the crown. SMDH. I CAN'T. I had to go to another dentist and get my tooth resized for another crown the proper way. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH, THIS IS WHY I GOT SCREWED WITHOUT THE K-Y JELLY. not doing the research. DON'T GO HERE. THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE.

Review: This is our first year with this practice due to a change in our insurance. My daughter received general cleaning services. #1 - she did not receive a flouride treatment, however, the Insurance Company ([redacted]) was billed for such. I have reported this to [redacted], who is doing an investigation.

#2. The service indicated a need to have 3 cavities filled. We were surprised. She has never had a cavity. We returned for the first filling (waited a full hour to be seen)... After some pain, we returned the following week for an adjustment. The experience was beyond acceptable regarding how the office is run (about 60 patients were waiting... not all even fit in the office!) and we had to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes to have the adjustment done.... we were seen only because I complained horribly. I then decided to go to a dentist I had trusted for years for the remaining cavities even though they were out of network and I would have to pay cash. The second dentist could not find any cavities. She did new Xrays, which I paid $100 for, to be sure. My daughter has no cavities. The one "Cavity" that was filled by the original dentist, was not a cavity at all... It is a spot on her teeth that has been there for years and is a result of her braces. If I had not gone to an alternate dentist, she would have 3 fillings in her mouth for no reason, and the insurance company would be paying them for it. This is fraudulent.Desired Settlement: Ideally, be reimbursed for my out of pocket expense ($100), tripled, because my daughter will ultimately need to have the unnecessary filling repaired at some point in life... she is only 17.

I would like for their billing practices to be audited.

Review: I paid $1251.00 for partial dentures on 12/*/14 and today is March [redacted] and I still have not received my service. I have called many times to see why I haven't received my services and they would never call me back or gave me the run around.Everytime I would schedule an appointment it was canceled. Today my daughter called and spoke with the [redacted] and she admitted the lab lost my impressions. My daughter asked why they didn't tell me and the [redacted] said the doctor was aware of the missing lab but wanted to keep it "hush hush". Needless to say I am so diappponted that I was lied to for months especially since I have a patient of Dr. Goldsteins for over 20 years. I told the [redacted] I would like my money to be refunded and she said she would be calling me back once she speaks with the doctor. Well I have not received a phone call back about my refund. I am so digusted I was treated this way.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund plus the interest I incurred on my credit card for dental services I never received.

We refunded her credit card in full on that day. We are at a loss to understand why after she received the refund, she sent a letter of complaint to the Revdex.com. In addition, her lab case was found on March **, 2015. We immediately at that point called the daughter and the patient and subsequently called them on March [redacted] and March [redacted], apprising them of the fact that her denture was found and is ready to be inserted. We were willing to give them a 10% discount on the fee in consideration of the delay and their inconvenience. They have not returned our phone calls.
