Newell Bros. Tree Service

Hired to do tree trimming in our senior mobile home community, I arrived home to find not only my patio, front porch, driveway and yard completely covered in large limbs and branches from my once beautiful and beloved tree, but also to discover my bird bath broken, tree branches tangled in a vintage bicycle that was parked in the yard, and virtually all of the flowers planted beside the driveway trampled beyond recovery. There was only one worker on the scene, running the bucket and cutting limbs with no other worker in sight. Funny, I suppose, but I had arrived home earlier than usual that day, and I'm so grateful I did, as the worker had (has) stripped all of the branches, I mean ALL of the branches below 30 or so feet, creating a rain forest type looking tree, and also eliminating at least 30% of the shade the tree provided as well. Had I not arrived early, I believe even more of the tree would have been lost, as the worker was still cutting until I insisted he stop. The results- I could not get inside my home, the porch was covered, I had to personally remove and clean up most of the branches and debris to see what damage was truly done. All the flowers next to the driveway were destroyed, bird bath destroyed, tree damaged and stripped to the point all wildlife that once lived there have moved away, one of the saddest parts of this mess, as I loved the birds and squirrels that hung out in my yard and lived in this tree.
Even more distressing was the response I received from the owner, or I should say lack there of. I called the same day, same time the incident was taking place actually, left numerous messages asking for a call back, and for a visit from someone to inspect the tree.
I received a call back approx. 8 days later and while the owner kept referring to my mobile home as a trailer and our community as a trailer park, I was told to calm down, I was too upset, and of course he was "not saying he would not apologize", whatever that meant. I was told to call back when I had calmed down, and he hung up.
Needless to say, this was a very disappointing experience. I am not a dottering old person with nothing better to do than complain about the world, I AM a savvy young senior who know's what's what, and I know when I have been brushed aside and condescended to.
And I definitely recognize poor work, poor customer service, and this company's complete lack of concern when it comes to doing an acceptable job, or making things right when just the opposite occurs.
Shame on you Newell Bros, Tree Service for making no effort to make this right.
