Newman Replacement Windows Reviews (3)

Review: I ordered and provided a deposit for 3 French Doors, 1 side access door to Garage and a Kitchen Window. The doors have been installed, the Kitchen Window was not installed because the size measured was incorrectly. They acknowledged, their mistake. However, they want payment for the doors they did install. According to the signed contract payment is due "upon installation", which as noted is not complete, and they are unable at this time to determine when a correctly sized window will be available for install. In the meantime, I have gone to their Office to discuss and they maintain I must make a partial payment. Additionally, they also contacted me days later and are threatening to place a lien against the property if a partial payment is not made. I believe I am following their contract as written and do not appreciate the bullying tactics on display.Desired Settlement: Have the General Manager contact me and apologize for the misunderstanding. Provide me with a rough estimate of when the remaining window may be installed. If a lien has been filed - provide a full unconditional notarized release from any claim made against the property.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

I received a quote and signed a contract on April 17. The windows were suppose to take 6-8 weeks to order. They took 10. After the last window was reordered one window didn't have the proper flashing according to my general contractor and handyman. It took months of calls and emails to get a less than ideal solution. All the windows look different and I needed to add my own trim to fix at my own expense. The job finished with no discount at the end of July. 3 months of bad service. I would not recommend.

Review: On June 4, 2015, I called Newman Replacement Windows to arrange a quote to replace two French doors. [redacted] arrived to my house on June 15 and I ordered the replacement of the two French doors, three windows and two panels. I received a quote of $12,810.00 and a completion date of July 1, 2015, which was one week before a planned house party; I gave a deposit of $1,000.00. [redacted] took the measurements and informed me he will have his installer come by to measure again. The installers arrived July 1, 2015, and noticed several problems with the windows: one window was three inches short and the French doors were two inches short. After calling their supervisor, the installers installed two windows; however, one had nails sticking out and the other has a gap of 3/16 of an inch all the way around. [redacted] was on vacation so we had to await his return and the job was not done for the planned party. We informed [redacted] we no longer wanted the French doors and panels as they have not upheld their end of the work agreement. [redacted] said we have to pay for all of the windows and we contest they have not provided what we wanted by the agreed time frame. They also took away the old windows without informing us. On September 4, 2015, installers arrived to complete the job and, again, the windows were of the wrong size and the installers left. Newman Replacement Windows has failed to contact us to let us know what they were doing to correct their issues and when this would be resolved. Today is September 21 and we still have not heard form Newman Replacement Windows.Desired Settlement: As the issues with the windows have been ongoing for three months, we wish to terminate all current and future business with Newman Replacement Windows. We feel we should not pay for the already-installed windows as the work is sub-par and unfinished; however, we will pay for these windows to cease all business dealings with Newman Replacement Windows.

Response:

Reference: [redacted]. We have responded to this complaint with a letter, sent certified mail, to the customer. A copy of this letter is attached.Dear Mr. and Mrs. [redacted],We received your complaint through the Revdex.com dated September 21, 2015. We pride ourselves on delivering quality installation of a viable, well made product. All of our windows are custom, made to order, specific to your home, so we take great care in doing the job correctly and for a fair price. We apologize for the nail sticking out of one window and some trim issues on another. We returned to your home, as soon as agreed upon, to adjust and repair these issues. At that second installation service appointment, on September 4, 2015, we had scheduled installation of a different window which had been measured incorrectly. This window arrived damaged from the manufacturer and had to be returned and remade. We’ve been in touch, letting you know that we will schedule installation of this window when we have received it in good condition. We made a call to you on September 21, 2015, to schedule and have not received a return call from you regarding this. You also had ordered a pair of French doors with 2 side windows. These were unpackaged during initial installation and our installers noticed some damage on the frames. We have sent those back to the manufacturer for repair and have made attempts to schedule installing the new doors and windows. You have expressed that you do not like the doors and do not want them. Unfortunately, we cannot cancel custom made product.Your contract was for 3 windows and 1 pair of French doors with 2 side windows, with a purchase price of $12810.00. The amount payable, once installed is $11,810.00. We have had all shipping damage repaired by the manufacturer. We have also corrected the installation and measuring mistake. Currently we have 1 window and a pair of French doors with 2 side windows on hand and are waiting for you to return our call to schedule installation. Once again, we cannot return or refund custom made product. We have fulfilled our portion of the contract and need to install the remaining items at your earliest convenience.Thank you for your business.Sincerely, [redacted]
