On July 18, Ms*** and her mother came into the store looking to purchase a washer and dryer set After looking at several items, they bctil ed on the Whirlpool *** set that they eventually purchased
Prior to making the purchase
they were informed that the items were "used" and that the age was unknown to us because they didn't have a date on them to where we can tell them, however by purchasing the items they will have a 30-day warranty that covers both parts and labor, and they would also receive a lifetime in-store labor warrantyHer mother offered to purchase the two appliances at $totaled instead of the list price of $for the set, Trying to help them out we agreed on the $if they were to purchase the set
We received a call from Ms*** wanting a refundShe was upset, stating that she did some research and found out the appliances were older than she was told - that she wouldn't have purchased them at the price she had; and also that the washer or dryer did not work properly
We tried to assist her as best as we can, by apologizing for any misunderstanding and reiterating that as a store policy we do not state the age of appliances unless we see a date listed on themShe probably misunderstood because she looked at many different ones; some of the other washers do have dates on themWe tried to scheduled time to check out the issue of the washer or dryer that she said was not working properly sitwe it was covered under warranty but she refusedInstead she wanted a refund and when she was told she cannot get a refund she threatened to file a Revdex.com complaint and threatened to file asmall claims case against the store
As a small business owner, we understand the importance of customer service as we receive a lot of business from referralsWe take pride in our customer's satisfaction that's why we offer the 30-day warranty to fix any issues that may occur after purchase, and also back it with a lifetime labor warranty as wellThere are no stores in Fresno that would offer free labor to any of their customers
We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding about the age of the appliances but we are unable to provide a refundThe appliances Ms_ *** purchased did not have dates on them but some of the ones she looked at did which you can see in the pictures I've attachedAlso, as it states on the attached invoice we cannot provide refunds, returns or exchanges which Ms*** agreed to when she made the purchase
Also on the invoice you will see a discount of $that was given to Ms***; although the appliances are "used" they are still saleable at the list price which we discounted greatly for hcrShe stated she would not have paid $for the set but it was her mother who made the offer to purchase the appliances and Ms*** went through with the saleThere is still a market for used appliances and what price the appliances are sold for and is purchased for is at the discretion and agreement of both seller and buyer, As you can see from the attached printouts of Craigslist ads that I've downloaded today for different washer and dryer sets (there are two shown that is comparable to the set Ms*** purchased - Whirlpool Cabrio) that prices vary, which may not be as low as one may expect for used appliances, and that there are no guarantees that the appliances will work or work properlyAt least we provide a 30-day warrant), and a lifetime labor warranty
As for the washer or dryer not working properly, we gladly honor the warranty we provide And our offer to fix the washer or dryer still stands, if there is a problem with them

Thsee people are fraudsHe said I was confused because the others had dates but that is not true he told me the dates and had told me this set was one year older then then the ones next to them which were Hes defence was that it was a guess but come on he couldn't be sure because they don't come with a date but any professional knows there is a built in date in the serial numberWhich I found out when I got home and try to look it up online

To resolve this matter and in the best interest of both parties, we have decided to make the following offer:
We can offer a store credit of $to Ms*** with the following conditions:
1)The washer and dryer Ms*** previously purchased must be returned by August 18, or at the time the store credit is used, whichever comes first(This date is calendar days from the date of original purchase.)
2)The washer and dryer being returned must be in the same condition as when she purchased it
3)The store credit may be used to purchase any appliances we have in stockWe make no guarantees that: a) appliances will have manufacture dates of 2014, 2013, etc.; or b) that matching sets will be available
4)Any differences in prices above the $store credit must be paid
5)There will be no refunds of unused store creditThis store credit will expire February 18, (six months from the date above)
6)We do not research manufacture dates and if Ms*** prefers to do that, she must do that before making her next purchase
