Regards,
[redacted] Revdex.comMESSAGE FROM BUSINESS:[redacted], has been apt of record in our office for quite sometime.  On occasion in his history with our office he had been given courtesy adjustments on his file when he had small balances. Unfortunately [redacted] called and spoke with our office again requesting that we just "write off' the balance for him.  When he called after receiving this bill, I explained to him where the bill was coming from and that the insurance paid their portion and clearly stated on the EOB what his portion was.  He stated to me that he paid what he thought he should pay and was not intending to pay a penny more.  When I reiterated the balance was due to his insurance company paying an alternative benefit and that his contract was between him and his insurance company, he again stated that he paid his portion and that was all he wished to pay and that he was told that was all he had to pay.  I explained to him that when we quote benefits it is an estimate only and that he signed documents stating he understood that, as well as, this is an agreement between he and his insurance company that any quote of benefits is an estimate only.Enclosed you will find a copy of the EOB from [redacted]s insurance company stating his portion as well as a consent signed on the date of service that again explains that any ins quote is an estimate only.We agree with his insurance company that the balance belongs to him; however, we wish to take care of our patients even when they choose to no longer seek treatment with our office. We will write off this balance for [redacted], and wish him well.  In the future should he decide to be seen at our office we would certainly expect to be paid what the insurance company does not.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my dispute. In regard, to the letter dated October 12, 2015, from [redacted] on behalf of Next Century Dental (NCD), I would like to make the following response.
Initially, I do not know nor have I ever spoken to [redacted], and I certainly do not appreciate the unprofessional and condescending, personal scolding she gave me in her letter.
Next Century Dental (NCD) advised my Dad, [redacted], that the dental implant and dental services to be provided to him would total $9500.00 if payment was made in advance. Further, NCD provided me with a Brochure from Springstone (which became Lending Club), and recommended that I apply for a loan of $ 9500.00 to make the advance payment. Since NCD required an advance payment of $6000.00 for the dental surgery and implants on May 21, 2015, I borrowed $6000.00 from Lending Club as evidenced by the promissory note and disclosure enclosed herein.
Accordingly, I am enclosing a Single Patient Ledger dated October 2, 2015, from Next Century Dental, reflecting payments received by NCD on behalf of my Dad. On May 21, 2015, the ledger indicates that NCD received $6000.00 from Lending Club and/or Springstone in two payments of $5655.00 and $345.00.
For the completion of dental services, Next Century Dental required advanced payment of $3500.00 for dentures and/or dental appliance. As a result, on September 18, 2015, I borrowed $3500.00 from Lending Club as evidenced by the enclosed Lending Patient Solutions Sales Receipt.
Accordingly, the Next Century Dental Single Patient Ledger indicates that NCD received $3500.00 from Lending Club and/or Springstone on September 18, 2015, in two payments of $2992.50 and $507.50.I am enclosing a statement of services rendered from Next Century Dental dated October $1, 2015 which shows cash payment by my Dad of $377.50 indicating that he has a zero balance on his account. In conclusion, Next Century Dental’s records themselves plainly show that it has received $9877.50 on behalf of [redacted]’s account when by its own admission in the letter from [redacted] dated October 12, 2015, Next Century Dental agreed to accept $9500.00 in full payment.Apparently, Next Century Dental does not feel it necessary to refund the cash money that my Dad made in overpayment which I feel is unethical and a form of elderly abuse.
Regards,[redacted]
Revdex.comMESSAGE FROM BUSINESS:As we previously outlined in our letter dated October 12,2015 (see paragraph below):"........ office provided dental implant and dental services for her father that totaled $12,026. He was given a detailed outline of the procedures and fees prior to any services being started, other than the exam which our office provided to him at no charge. We agreed to reduce the fees for his dental treatment to $9,500. [redacted] (his daughter) chose to use a third party finance company which paid our office $5,655on 05/21115 and $2,922.50 on  09/18115. On 10/04/2015 an additional cash payment of 322.50 was made. The sum of these three payments was $8,970 which was $530 short of the reduced  fee of$9,500 we originally agreed to take for the services which were provided."Based on those calculations, our office is still short $530. It was clearly explained at the inception of [redacted]s father's treatment plan that our office wished to net $9500.00 total for  his treatment plan. This was regardless of the method she chose to pay (cash, check, credit card or third-party financing). Let me be perfectly clear we are not asking her to pay any fees from any third party financier; our office is simply stating we cannot discount his account any further.  That being said, we are willing to make a gesture in good faith and to be amicable toward [redacted] and her father.  We are willing to write off the $530 that we are still short to come to the agreed total of $9500. This will reduce the amount we actually received for his case to $8970; however we feel this will allow all parties involved to be happy that they have been treated fairly and allow us to put this matter to rest.
