Complaint[redacted]I had a driveway installed by this company the week of July 15th, 2015. I was very satisfied with the work done initially. This Spring once the snow disappeared I noticed and inordinate number of stone pops in some areas and none in others along with crumbling along the dry cuts in the main driveway area. I contacted [redacted], the owner, on April 26, 2016 and asked him to come and look at the mess the driveway was. After several more attempts and an e-mail via Revdex.com he did contact me and agreed to come by and check it out. On Friday My 6, 2016 he came and looked at it and indicated that it was not acceptable and stated he thought it was an aggregate issue and would contact [redacted] the supplier. He stated that this was not an entirely unheard of situation and that he generally has to replace one or two driveways each year. After several calls to find out what was happening [redacted] texted me on May 31st to ask if he could stop by on Friday (June 3rd) to talk about what we (Next Level) can do. I advised him that would work. I texted him at 4:00 PM to see if he was still coming and at 5:00 he texted wanting to know if I was home. I didn't get the text until 7:25 and replied that I was. No Response. At 8:46 I texted to see if he was coming. I missed a voice call from him on June 5th at 12:50 PM, but texted him at 1:30 PM that day to advise him that I would be home around supper time. No response. June 7th sent a text wanting him to contact me. No response. June 10 e-mail via Revdex.com website giving him a deadline of Monday June 13th to contact me or I would pursue a formal complaint with Revdex.com. No response at time of filing this complaint on May 14, 2016.Desired SettlementClearly the driveway or at least a significant portion of it is substandard and has to be replaced. It may very well be a problem with the concrete supplied for this job and I believe that the responsibility for resolution rests between [redacted] the supplier and Next Level Concrete the installer.Business Response It was clearly stated and agreed before and after the driveway was installed that there was a risk of stone pops due to lightweight materials in the aggregates, and in such a case no guarantee would apply. I had stopped by on the date of May 6th 2016 to have a look at the issues described by the home owner [redacted]. In the mid portion of the driveway there was stone pops that where signifigant and inordinate. I informed the home owner [redacted] that I would contact our ready mix supplier about the issue. Our supplier [redacted] had sent out a representative to give his informed opinion about the issue. On May 31st 2016 I had contacted [redacted] and told him I could stop by on Friday June 3rd 2016 to talk to him about what was to be done. I received a text from [redacted] at 4pm that day and asked if I was still available to meet at 5pm. At 5pm I had text him asking "are you home now" to which I had no response. At 5:45 I had called him and there was no answer. At this point I had continued on with other scheduled meetings with potential customers. At 7:26pm I received a text message reading "yes we are". Our business is located outside of the city limits and and there was no time to make it back into the city within our standard operating hours. [redacted] had taken a look at the project and agreed that a portion in the mid section was not in there specification and that they would re supply the materials needed to repair the damaged area, Next Level Concrete Services Inc has also agreed to remove and replace the same damaged portion in the mid section of the driveway. Which was to be discussed at the meeting of June 3rd 2016. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)I am very pleased that [redacted] has agreed to replace the affected area of my driveway. [redacted]
