In my opinion, Next Level Trainings should not be allowed to operate in the State of Ohio. I paid about $2000 attending the trainings at the insistence of a former business partner. I was called a bad father, a suicide risk and the principal publicly slapped me in the face during the training on one occasion. There is extreme pressure put on attendees to recruit the next round of trainees. This business is a rebrand of the Werner Erhard EST training which was later rebranded Landmark Forum and is now operating as Next Level Trainings in Columbus and Philadelphia. I was called by a recruiter/sales person for a training course called Next Level TrainingI was told that if I prepaid for all training I would get a special discount that would only be available if I paid for it online before the training datesWell, after the first training date I found out that the training wasn't for me, the things they talked to me about on the phone for the sale's pitch about being able to transform my life, I didn't find what they had to offer worth my time and moneyThey also offered the same discount during the training date to sell for the next training datesIf I knew that there was no way I would have prepaid for all training events, and wouldn't even have paid for the 2nd training and now I'm just trying to get back money for an event I was tricked into paying for and one I didn't attendI told them I didn't want to attend the last training dates and that I wanted a refundThey told me that I couldn't get it, and to come to the next trainingS

Next Level is an opportunity to look at yourself in new ways and reengineer your lifeIt can be extremely uncomfortable, but all around it's an extremely fun, inviting, and powerful experience

I had attended this training from start to finishI went through Discovery, Breakthrough, and VIPI enjoyed the connections I have made (many are still in my life)The people I met are what I keep in my heart from that experienceI am a graduate student studying Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Counseling as well as somatic body work, a yogi, and artistI have done research in the area transformation and healing for a few years nowI took the training because of my curious nature and wanted to see the experience from the insideFrom my professional and academic standpoint, studying Psychology and proper healing and experiential practices; I would highly advise against attending this trainingI have discussed practices from the training with colleagues, mentors, mediation teachers, as well as continuing the conversation with other organizations and have decided along with these trusted Psychologists and Professionals that Next Level Leadership Training and other cognitive behavioral forms of "quick" weekend intensives such as this are not only not effective for long term healing they can be re-traumatizing and detrimental to those who attendI have heard accounts of suicidal thoughts since training's as well as other research I have done on my own, speaking with former attendeesAs I study Psychology and do many practices of healing, I know it does not take one weekend, even six months (VIP) to transform you lifeIt takes hard workIt is also freeI know many teachers who offer their practices for freeYoga, meditation, somatic body work, writing, creating, dancing, connecting, movement therapy, wilderness therapyTHESE are healing practicesLook up Tara Brach, she knows vastly more than Next Level could ever teach youYOU are your best healerRemember that I will not tell anyone not to attend as it is a personal choice; however, I have to warn you, the practices and exercises they introduce to participants can be harmful to peoples mental statesShould anyone who has attended these training's want to reach out to me to discuss any bad experiences or questionable experiences they may have had, you are more than welcome toI have already had a number of folks explain theirs to meMy only intention with this post is to speak from a therapeutic background with the knowledge I now have around this training and healthier ways to go about learning about yourselfThis is not one of themThere is a reason practices such as meditation have been in place for so long, because they workIf you want to go through a transformation practice, buy a yoga mat, take a workshop with a yoga studio, sit with yourself, look up what our elders talk about as healing practices, explore traditional ways of transformation, because as I attended Next Level, I saw hints of certain therapeutic and psychological practices being presentedThose are what workThis post was written for my concern for my communities and the well being of everyone in themI do not support Next Level Training's Some of those in charge may have good intentions; however, they are misinformed and not practicing healthy healing methods from my professional opinionOne of the only good benefits of Next Level being in place is Next Level Gives where money is raised for the communities local non-profitsThank you for reading

This post is bashing Next Level Training to try to promote themselves and their colleagues. Next Level does not in any way presume to replace therapy. In fact, if you read their website, they clearly state that if you do have certain pasts or are going through certain things that this training is NOT for you and you need to seek out a professional therapist. Nor do they say that you should stop seeing any therapist you are seeing in order to attend the training. They also make you fill out a checklist that screens potential candidates. If you answer the questions with certain information pertaining to your life and what you have been or are possibly going through, they will not let you even take the training without the release of a licensed therapist, psychiatrist, or medical doctor that you have been under the care of. Furthermore, the training openly and boldly advocates for incorporating yoga, meditation, movement therapy, dancing, and other forms of healing into your life. In fact, they include some visual meditation in their training, as well as dance. This training is designed to help you recognize what is blocking you from getting the things you want, figuring out where they stem from, and breaking past them to see and realize your true potential. There are parts of the training that are tough. They definitely challenge you to completely drop your ego and step into something new. There are exercises designed to make you aware of how you are presenting yourself to the people you come across in life. They are also very clear in showing you that is not who you are as a person, but how you are coming across to people. You get to decide if that is, in fact, how you want to come across and if the way you present is having any negative affect on the things you are trying to accomplish. You can disagree, resist, or deny it all you want, if you want. But is that mindset really helping you in life? The reality is, most of the issues and challenges that people face during the training, are also the same issues and challenges they face in life. They aim to break past your walls and see who you really are. However, that is only part of the training. The real purpose of the training is to promote love, connection, community, support, and much more. It shows you that while you cannot control what happens in life you can control how you react to it. And it encourages you to not let anything keep you from reaching your full potential. It promotes, deciding who you are, owning it, and living it. It also gives you a view on just how disconnected and self-serving this world has become. But that at the core, that’s probably not who most people really are. I myself have been in therapy for years. I have also done meditation, and yoga for years, and Next Level had a huge impact on helping me process things I have never affectively processed, and gaining my confidence back. And I watched as other people in my group accomplished this too. Not to mention the friendships I created. I would recommend the training for anyone who is struggling within themselves, wants a breakthrough in their life, and wants to gain a renewed faith in people.
