Next Productions

Review: Next Productions was running a sales contest called the VP contest and there were to be four sponsors, who paid to participate in the show. The contract guaranteed that the sponsors would receive at least as much as the initial investment in sales, otherwise there would be a refund of the fees. The amount invested was over $9,000 to participate - with $8,000 being given to Next Productions in fees. There was under $300 in total sales during the contest of our product - no where near what was promised! Never mind the other expenses and time involved to participate.Now, we are unable to get our refund because the company says they have no money and can't afford to pay anyone - including refunding our money or pay the winners of the contest.Ultimately, there is nothing but excuses.Desired Settlement: I want what was promised in my contract please - a refund of my $8,000 fee for non-performance.

Response:

There were 5 sponsoring companies in the VP Contest, not 4 sponsors as claimed. We made the other 4 sponsoring companies over $116,000 in sales revenue during the seven week period, which was our most successful sales contest ever. The sales contestants did not sell the complaintant's products well for reasons that I will not state here. Next Productions did not have money at the end of the contest as it was spent producing the contest. The winner did get paid and the winner landed a full time job as promised. The owner of the former VP Contest is intending to pay back the complaintant.
