We received the complaint via postal mail just under a week ago, and did not receive a link or other way to access the online system. We are sending a response today via fax, but would be happy to submit this response online if you can send a link to ***@nextprojectstudio.com.
Here is our response:We have worked with the *** to remodel their kitchen, master bath, and several other areas in their home. We agree that the project has taken way too long, but believe the problems that have plagued this project could've been easily resolved. We do not accept the criticisms noted in the complaint. If the specific events did occur, then we weren't aware of them at the time or we would have responded. As for leaving lights on, we are willing to offer compensation for that additional expense.Our position is that this project could have been completed long ago, and more smoothly, if the clients had been willing to work with us instead of playing "gotcha" and demanding extras at every turn. From very early on, the clients have been hostile towards our crew and subcontractors. Their angry rants, antagonism, repeated threats of non-payment, and demands for new terms and conditions have made this project nearly impossible to complete.Certainly, we could have been more careful in our communications, but remodeling projects are complex, and are highly dependent on clients and contractors working together, attempting to resolve issues fairly. Our efforts to be flexible have back-fired over and over.As for the criticism that we've had to redo much of the work, it's true that we've gone back to re-work many parts of the projects three or four times, at our own expense in time and materials, to meet what turned out to be unrealistic expectations on the part of the client.Remodeling an older home like the Harrison's is complex and challenging under the best of circumstances. We've never had a client like the ***, and if it had been possible, we would've released the contract and encouraged the client to find a compatible contractor. The loan requirements didn't allow for that, so we've tried to complete the work as best as we can
