There will be no comment on this as I have turned this over to my attorney for legal action against the complaintant.

I am rejecting this response because: Thanks for forwarding the Nextview moving response.  As you might surmise, there are several points in which I disagree. First they state that they ask for 90 blankets prior to the move.  When was this to have happened?  We moved to Texas with exactly the same blankets, etc and sustained no damage. They also state that the tvs, lamps and clocks were not packed.  This is simply untrue.  I personally packed all of these items and they sustained no damage during the move. As for the heirloom clock, they state that it had a towel and one layer of shrink wrap protecting it.  Again this is a gross fabrication.  The clock was padded inside and out with two styrofoam absorbing plates, two unopened bags of cotton balls as well as wrapped with two towels then shrink wrapped.  When we opened the trailer, the wrapping had been partially slid away allowing the damage to occur. As for the bid, to under estimate a bid by 25% is very unprofessional.  If they move as many families as they suggest, and I have no doubt that they do,  surely they can more accurately place a bid.   At this point I'm not sure of my recourse and would welcome any suggestions you may feel able to share.I notice that Nextview neglected to mention the utility shelving which was destroyed in transit.

Mr. [redacted] hired NextView Moving to load a competitor's semi-trailer for him. Based on the service he requested, we told him he needed to provide furniture pads and straps to...

protect his belongings. We recommended about 90 furniture pads and sufficient straps to secure his property during transit. When we we showed up to load the trailer, he gave us less than a dozen sheets/blankets and did not have straps or rope. He also did not have all his belongings packed. There were pictures, mirrors, Tvs, lamps, clocks etc. that were not properly packed. The  "heirloom" clock that he claims was damaged had a towel wrapped around the center of it with one layer of stretch wrap holding the towel on. The frame of the clock had no protection and that is what appears to have been damaged, according to Mr. [redacted].   Before we began, we told Mr. [redacted] that if we only load a trailer/truck and not do the complete move we are not responsible for what happens after we load the trailer as we have no control over the trailer during transit. Mr. [redacted] gave no indication that this was unacceptable to him at the time. When he contacted us about damages we again told him the insurance company will deny the claim since we only loaded the trailer. He responded by saying he had no doubt that is the case but wanted us to try to do something about it anyway. As expected, the insurance company denied the claim. Had Mr. [redacted] supplied the necessary equipment for the job I am very confident the outcome would have been different.   Mr. [redacted] was given an open ended hourly quote to load the trailer. We estimated it would take 4-5 hours. It took 5.5 hours. Had he packed everything and supplied enough protection for his belongings it would have saved time on loading. Mr. [redacted] never once mentioned anything about the bill until 2 months after the load and after we told him we are not responsible for the damage due to his lack of providing straps/rope and moving blankets/furniture pads. To top it off, I used a $14.00 strap of mine own to help secure the load and did not charge him for it.   We have moved numerous people all over the country who have not had any damage whatsoever. The amount of damage Mr. [redacted] is claiming on his move is more than all the moves we have done over the last year combined, which is over 1,400 moves. We strive to provide exceptional service to all of our customers, but we allow the customer to choose which services they desire after providing information about the services we offer. After being offered multiple options, Mr. [redacted] chose what services he wanted us to provide and we provided those services.
