Review: On my way from Philadelphia to NYC for a wedding on 5/25/14, I took a train from Trentor, NJ to NYC Penn Station. When I arrived at Trenton Train Station, the only overnight lot I could find was full. I tried another lot that stated "$14 Daily Parking" so I assumed I could park overnight and just pay $28. After I parked in this lot and placed $14 in the kiosk, I started reading the small fine print at the kiosk. I learned that the lot closed at midnight and cars would be subject to get a boot or a tow. After reading this fine print, I realized this lot would not work for my plans as I would be in NYC longer than midnight that night, so I cancelled the transaction and received a CANCELLED receipt (which I still have). I was able to find street parking which worked out for me that night.

The CANCELLED receipt clearly states "CANCELLED 02:37 PM Note : $14.00 Machine Nb : [redacted] 05/25/14 Nb Repay : [redacted] For refund, contact [redacted]. Or visit www.nexusparkingsystems.com

I immediately contacted them the next day for a refund. I spoke with a woman by the name of [redacted]. She explained that the owner of the company who I guess authorizes the refunds was out of the office and would not be in for a week, but she would get back to me. After not hearing back from them, I contacted them this morning.

They responded with this: "Hi [redacted], I am sorry that I did not get back to you. Without the paid parking receipt for either a space at [redacted] or one of the two garages at the Trenton Transit Center operated by Nexus Parking Systems, I cannot issue you a refund or provide you with a parking voucher for a future day of parking because I must have proof that you paid for parking. Unfortunately the refund slips are thrown on the ground and I have no way to confirm the owner without the paid parking slip. There is always daily and overnight parking in either of the two garages operated by Nexus Parking Systems where you can park for up to 21 consecutive days."Desired Settlement: I would like a refund! Even if it is only $14! I paid cash and the only prove I have is the CANCELLED receipt. I have not receipt from the street parking afterwards because those meters did not provide one. I was with a friend who witness and even split the original cost with me. It is very insulting that they are assuming I picked the receipt up off the ground. They should not offer refunds if there is such a grey area or loophole for them to get away with not issuing a refund. There receipts should say: "DONT NOT BOTHER CONTACTING US FOR A REFUND BECAUSE WILL DO NOT BELIEVE IN HONEST PEOPLE AND WE WILL NOT TRUST THAT THE CANCELLED SLIP YOU ARE CONTACT US ABOUT IS ACTUALLY YOURS BECAUSE WE WILL ACCUSE YOU OF PICKING IT UP OFF THE GROUND, but contact [redacted] or visit www,nexusparkingsystems.com".
