has not talked to her because her street is being repaved and it wasn’t accessible by car.   If our machinery hit the fence, there would be no fence left standing.  The machine is very powerful (it knocks down houses) and it if hit her fence, it wouldn’t stand a chance! Furthermore, the fence might not even be hers. Generally the nicer side of the fence faces the neighbor.   We could go back and take the whole thing down and then she would have to put up a new fence not just a couple of slats.   I am more than a reasonable person, if we did something wrong we would fix it, I was going to send someone over to fix it just to be done with it.
