I hired Cathleen to do my wedding photography because she did my senior photos in high school and the quality of them was very good. Our wedding photos came out pretty good so I am thankful for that, however the experience with her was very unprofessional and just awful. We paid $1,200 for her to shoot the wedding and our engagement photos and then if we wanted any of the photos we had to pay for each one individually. We had to buy $500 worth in prints from her in order to get our digital files of our engagements. We did and that was that. Later after our wedding we had to buy $1,000 worth in prints from her in order to get the digital files of our entire wedding so she charged us $200 for a few prints and $1,000 for our wedding book. She agreed to a payment plan as I had lost my job and Covid-19 hit so I made monthly payments to her on time until it was paid in full. I made a payment schedule for her and always communicated with her to make sure she received the payments. I paid off the entire order for our prints and book March 2020 and didn't receive anything for months. She did not let us see the book before it was ordered so we had no idea how it would even look. At this point she would not respond to my texts, she would not release any part of my order (prints, thumb drive with all of our photos) until the book arrived which she could not give me an ETA for and blamed it on Covid-19. She decided to give us our prints and thumb drive but when I arrived to pick up, the thumb drive was not ready. She told me to come by another day and she would have it ready. Later on that day she decided that she did not want to give it to me until the book arrived but she could not give me an ETA for the book. I waited weeks and checked in periodically for an update, She only gave the same answer "When it gets here I will let you know" (she refused to tell me a date she ordered it or any kind of proof that it even was ordered). I continued to wait weeks and finally decided to contact a few photo shops to ask if they were still operating or if they had delays due to Covid-19 and Horn Photo in Fresno (the place she told me she picked up our prints from) did not have any delays and were operating as normal. I tried communicating with her asking about the delay she claimed because these businesses were still operating. I explained the situation to the store manager is search of some advise and she told me that she is very familiar with this behavior from Cathleen and she is not sure why she gets like this. The manager was willing to contact her on my behalf to try and get a response because I wasn't getting anything from her. Later on Cathleen called me and began screaming at me over the phone because I contacted these places asking about their Covid-19 operations. Mind you, EVERYTHING was already paid for in March 2020, I had already been waiting weeks (actually months), and we were willing to wait for the book however long we just wanted our digital files on the thumb drive. I began begging her for our photos (it seemed like that was the only way to get a response from her) and Finally in July, she gave me an ETA for our wedding book. July 17th we met up to pick up our book and thumb drive and I was immediately shocked at what she gave me. The photo book was awful. First of all, we didn't get to see it before the order was placed because she wouldn't let us, and second of all, I know her quality of work (that is why I hired her) and this book she gave us was put together very sloppily and included photos we didn't even choose to be in the book. She had me sign a contract stating that I received everything and was satisfied with it before she would give it to me. I really had no choice but to sign it because of how long it has already been (10 months) and because I wanted nothing more to do with her. At the end of the day the way I think of it is that I paid maybe $10 per edit and I have all the digital files now and even made my own wedding book that I am very happy with. Long story short, some people in this world are just so ugly and so hurt on the inside and are nothing more but greedy and petty. Leave those people alone, don't hire them to photograph your wedding.
