Attached is the Repair order that was done to Mr***'s *** at no charge. You can see on line A there was a Service Loaner given to Mr***We also did a multi point inspection of the tires We replaced the Front brake pads and rotorsWe also noted that the rear brakes were measured between and MMIf the rear pads were below 3mm I would have replaced them to begin with in our original inspection. We have been in business for over years and don't sell cars that are not safe to customers

Customer purchased a 100k mile AS-IS vehicle. The Service inspection that was done to the vehicle passed all safety standards. I had the customer bring in the [redacted] and gave them a 2017 Lincoln loaner car at no charge and replaced the front Brakes and rotors. There is a cost of ownership...

when you buy a used vehicle and its called maintenance. I didn't ask retail price for the [redacted] when we sold it so there is limit in what the dealership can do. I am not in business to give away $1500 brakes to customers who buy 100k mile used cars that are sold AS-IS.

The issues he had came up over a month after he purchased the car. We explained to him that no diagnostic tool can predict things that may need repaired in the future. We can only inspect a car for any issues that may exist at that moment in time, and the car checked out. Like all of our clients he...

was offered a warranty that would have covered this issue, but he declined the coverage. He told us he was quoted $4000.00 to fix the car. We said "that seems really high. Bring it to us, we will give you a free rental and lets see if we can fix it cheaper". We gave him a quote of $1200.00. We also waived the inspection time. He informed us that he had found someone to do it for $900.00. He picked up his car and we assumed he was going to whatever place quoted him $900.00. The assertion that we are deceptive in some way borders on libelous. We had almost $500.00 in diagnostic time to ascertain the issue that we waived for him. We bent over backward to help. Unfortunately we cannot be responsible for repairs that arise after a car is purchased. That is why every client signs and as-is form stating they understand the dealership assumes no responsibility for future repairs, and we also offer warranties. We feel like we went above and beyond for this client.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Prior to purchasing the vehicle, my wife, children and I test drove the car. While driving the car, we noticed that the brakes seemed a little touchy. Chris N[redacted], our sales associate, told us that it was due to the recent rains we had had. We believed him, as the car we were replacing also had touchy brakes after storms. In addition to the brakes issue, Chris tried to come back to us on price via text message asking us to pay more money for the car.We were never offered any loaner vehicle. In fact,, my wife had to cancel an important meeting because our car was in the shop to replace the brakes a day longer than we were quoted. We were without the car several days to replace the brakes, and my wife was stuck home without a working vehicle with three children over that time. It wasn't until we got the car back that we found out that not all of the brakes were replaced. Nobody mentioned this to us at any point.  Because the brakes still were not right after getting the car back, my wife took the car to Monro in Avon Lake. We were quoted close to $400 to have the rear brakes replaced as they still had not been touched, and were told that the pads were not at the level that Nick Mayer had stated in their paperwork to us at pick up of the car.  The paperwork from Nick Mayer said that the brakes were at 4mm. In our quote from Monro, we were told that they were less than 1mm.We understand that Nick Mayer is not in the business of giving away free brake work.  We also have purchased used cars over the last decade and have never gone back to a dealership for any reason.  That said, we were told by the sales rep a very plausible explanation for the reason the brakes were not right.  We brought it up to the sales rep before purchasing.  We received a CarFax report stating that their shop had checked over the brakes within the month before we went to the dealership and their service team signed off on the brakes at that time.  We feel as though we were not given correct information by the sales member and we expected Nick Mayer to not only stand behind the car they sold us, but also behind the work of their service team.  We understand that the car was sold in As Is condition, but were told that the brakes were fine by both the sales rep and the Car Fax report that their service team had signed off on.  We were told after purchasing the vehicle that the brakes would be fixed as well.
Regards,
