The customer purchased sf of Shaw Tuftex ounce carpet and padThe proposal included the following rooms: Family Room, Dining Room, Hallway and StairsThe installer cut the carpet at the customer's houseOnce all of the carpet was cut, there was a x piece left which belonged to the companyThe customer asked if we could install the extra carpet in his bedroom (which was not included in the original proposal)The installer measured the bedroom and informed the customer that we would give him the extra carpet but he would need to purchase additional carpet to complete the bedroomWe are sorry that the customer is experiencing shedding of the carpetWe have installed this carpet in numerous homes and have had no complaints regarding shedding The customer purchased Luxury Vinyl Tile from [redacted] and asked us to install itThe owner decided to install it at no charge We will repair the areas that need to be fixed by sending one of our installers to fix itIf the customer will buy the extra carpet needed for his bedroom (not part of original proposal), then we will install it at no chargeHe will also need to buy the necessary padThe carpet includes a year manufacturing warranty and we warranty the labor for a lifetime

I am rejecting this response because: The contractor is not being honest in their responseI was told that the carpet in their inventory was sufficient to do three (3) rooms including the stair and landingThe owner himself came out measured and guaranteed the sameI realize now he was just trying to rid himself of some surplus in the warehouseIf it was not the case, there would not have been reason to sale me more than I neededI currently have a very large piece of surplus carpeting, padding and tact strips in my basement that was slated for the 3rd room which proved not to be enough when they finally got to that spaceTo further dismiss their response of not having a third space to carpet why am I stuck with so much overage? Also, in my complaint I mentioned poor installation for instance: seems across door- ways (3); failure to wrap carpeting at door opening step-down; failure to clean up excess material; failure to remove trash remnants in bags (8); failure to re-install floor molding & baseboardsThe attached pictures will support some of my statements It should also be noted that I alerted the company to the poor installation areas a few days after installation and, still nothing was done [redacted]

We warranty all of our work and are willing to schedule something for him to do any repairs that he needs fixed. We are also willing to donate at no additional cost to him carpeting which we have in stock for his bedroom to make him happy and bring this complaint to a close
