Night & Day Auto Reviews (2)

Review: I purchased a car from them back in July 2013. Everything about the purchase was shady. While they were doing the paperwork we were not allow in the office. They were in the office with closed door.We were called in the office after everything was finished. All I had to do was sign the papers. Then they were suppose to put on a new back tire and they did not. I had to return the next day. My mom did not like how we were treated so she had the car reinspected. During the reinspection the mechanic found it was wrong size tire and exhaust had a whole in it. It was only inspected by them the week before. My mom went back to the garage and had them put the right tire on. But they would not do anything about exhaust. Also car was given with no coolant. About a month later paperwork came back from Penn-Dot. Not enough money was sent. Sent back into Penn-Dot. Received registration and sticker but no title. On 10/19/2013 I hit a deer with the car. My mom called Penn-Dot and was told there was a lien on the title. We paid cash. Called the business and told them they had to write a letter on their letterhead taking the lien off. They were suppose to notarized the letter and did not. We did not realize it until we drove one hour and fifteen minutes. We called the business again and were told they we on there way there. Another hour past and they still were not there. Called again and was told they would fax a new letter. Upon going into Penn-Dot. My mom recognized the owner of the business and he try to avoid us. We went to the same window that he was just at and we were told he also had trouble with his paperwork(he also tried to tell my mom earlier that he would pay the car off us so we did not have to go to Penn-Dot) when the fax came though it had his signature on it for the notarization. When he only walked out the door ten minutes earlier. Penn-Dot said they would take it since it was a fax.Desired Settlement: Paid $1200 for the car$150 for exhaust$30 for gas to run to [redacted] $22.50 for duplicate titleNot looking for total amount but I do feel some reimbursement is desiredWill also be contacting a lawyer about their shady business practiceAnd reporting them to Dealer license board

TO WHOM IT CONCERNS:

YES, [redacted] DID PURCHASE A VEHICLE ON 8/13/2013. THERE WAS NOTHING SHADY ABOUT THE PURCHASE. EVERYONE WAITS IN THE WAITING ROOM UNTIL ALL THE PAPER WORK IS COMPLETED THAN THEY COME IN THE OFFICE TO SIGN ALL REQUIRED PAPER WORK. THAT IS WHAT IS REQUIRED BY PENN DOT. DOOR IS NOT CLOSED. EVERY CUSTOMER IS TREATED WITH COURTESY AND RESPECT. OUR MECHANIC CHANGED THE TIRE. WHEN SHE LEFT, NIGHT AND DAY AUTO SALES LLC, THERE WAS NO HOLE IN THE EXHAUST, WE WOULD HAD NEVER LET IT LEAVE IF THERE WAS. THERE WAS A MISTAKE IN THE TITLE WORK BY OUR FULL AGENT WHICH SHE SAID SHE MAILED $5.00 IN BECAUSE THE PAPER WORK SAID THE TITLE HAD A LIEN ON IT. I OFFERED HER THE $5.00 WHICH SHE REFUSED. I RELEASED THE LIEN IMMEDIATELY. I WROTE THE LETTER AND FORGOT TO NOTARZED IT BECAUSE THE MOTHER WAS THROWING A FIT IN THE OFFICE SHE WANTED US TO BUY THE VEHICLE FOR $2,000.00 AND PAY THE TOWING AND STORAGE. I TOLD HER NO THAT WE WERE NOT RESPONABLE FOR THE VEHICLE BEING IN THE TOW YARD.

I DID NOT SEE HER AT PENN DOT. THE FAX DID NOT HAVE MY NAME ON IT IT WAS ONE OF THE FULL AGENTS NAMES.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

There was a lot of shady business going on with this purchase of the 2000 Hyundai Elantra. While [redacted], the supposedly "private owner", and the other gentleman were in the office filling out the paperwork and what not, the door was indeed closed. No if ands or buts about it, [redacted] wasn't even present the day we bought the vehicle. My mother and I never saw them filling out paperwork or even simply saw the paperwork until it was ready for me to sign. I right then and there even told my mother that this was a shady ordeal but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued on with the process simply because I was in need of a vehicle. We later on found out that they did indeed sold me the vehicle with one, no coolant in it; two, with a hole in the exhaust; and three, an extremely worn down tire. I went back to Night and Day Auto the next day and had them put coolant in my car and asked for a new tire. They did indeed put a new tire on my car which again we later on realized it was the completely wrong tire for my vehicle so we had to go back to Night and Day again which then they sent us to Pep Boys and had us waiting there for over an hour for a new tire. Then, about a month ago I did happen to hit a deer one night on my way home. When we went to get my car out of the towing company it was then when we realized we still did not receive the title. When we called about a duplicate copy of the title we had only found out then that there was a lien on the car and that it was still not in my name, that's when my mother went to Night and Day Auto to confront them about the lien on the vehicle. Night and Day Auto also made the comment at that point and time that they would buy my car back and deal with Penn-dot for us, my mother refused, she never once asked for Night and Day to buy the car, they simply had offered. So, about an hour later my mother and I started driving up to [redacted] to get a duplicate copy of the title so that we could get it out of the tow yard. Once we got to [redacted] that was when the woman had told us that the letter Night and Day Auto had sent up with us needed to be notarized, it was not. I personally called Night and Day myself and they had stated that [redacted] and her son [redacted] were actually on their way up to [redacted] and that they'd be there within a half hour, I specifically asked them to tell [redacted] or [redacted] to please give my cell phone a call once they got up there so that we could get this paper notarized and leave [redacted], but of course we never received a call. Then when my mother called Night and Day a half hour later, they had stated that they would fax a new letter to [redacted] notarized for us and to wait ten minutes for [redacted] to receive it. My mother and I waited outside in the parking lot for about five minutes and proceeded to walk into the DMV, when we actually got inside we had ran right into [redacted] and my mother confronted him. [redacted] then proceeded to walk out of the DMV as we actually got called up to the same window he was just at. The fax finally came through and guess whose signature was at the bottom of the letter? [redacted]. We never stated that [redacted] name was on the paper. My main question is, how did [redacted] just so happen to sign that letter when Night and Day Auto is in [redacted], PA and we had just literally ran into [redacted] up in [redacted]? My mother and I are more than willing to drive back up to [redacted] to get the name of the agent at the window that dealt with [redacted] and myself that day, and if possible, the security tapes as well to prove that my mother and I did in fact run into John. My mother, [redacted], also stated that if need be she too can make a statement about the complaint.

Review: In Feb 2013 I leased a vehicle from night and day I put a 800 deposit on the car. There were problems with the car. It was catlic converter they worked on it twice for that reason. After that I explain that the car was still acting up the kept telling me that they were too busy. I eventually talked them into having the Chevy Dealer check it because they were to busy to do it. They had two pages of problems with this car. Sometimes the car doesn't start and I have to sit and wait while turning key for 15 min before it starts again. The air conditioning doesn't work and I have two girls. From April 2013 when I had dealership look at it till now I call everyday to get my money back and they always tell me that [redacted] the owner is never there. Now since Monday car has been overheating everyday I told them they didn't even offer a tow truck to pick it up and look at it. Im Paying insurance for a car that im not even using 100.00 a month for a car I cant drive.Desired Settlement: I want my Deposit back 800.00 and insurance money that I have been wasting on this car thinking that they were going to fix it since April which is 89.00 a month.
