Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I clearly informed Gordon that I wanted the $1,used transmission, in the presence of my year old daughter I told him I had been offered only $for the car, so that is why I would not put in a $rebuild tranmission I left him a voicemail, which he refused to replay after the billing dislike arose I told old him I would pick up the transmission to expedite the process by a day, because I was stranded on s ride trip from Washington to California I told him clearly that I would take the risk of a used transmission because I was on the way to California to trade the vehicle for another vehicle already, and a rebuilt transmission did not add any value to me,because the trade was already in place As a concession to them, I offered to pay them for their ACTUAL costs for labor and materials, and I asked to speak with the owner Gordon said he was the owner Gordon said he paid his workers on a flat work basis, so that is why he said he needed over $ He also said he paid $for the transmission He also said that Oregon does not require a written estimate He also said that Oregon does not have an arbitration process for these disputes he said that my only option was to pay his price, or he would keep the car with a mechanics lien That left me stranded, and I had no choice but to pay under express and written protest is Gordon the owner?m Sincerely, [redacted]

I have spoken with my operations manager and he insists that he gave *** choices in fixing his carA used transmission with no warranty or guarantee that it would even work once in the vehicle, a local repair which would take longer to rebuild or factory built remanufactured transmission in
Portland that was in stock*** offered to go get the transmission that was in PortlandWe installed that transmission for *** and then he balked at the priceWe discounted the transmission repair by over $to compensate him for the time and gas to go to Portland which was double what freight would have cost if we had it shippedHe only wanted to pay the lowest price of $but did not choose that optionWe offered to remove the transmission we just installed and let him take his car, and he refused this option also as he would still have to deal with the broken transmission issueThis vehicle, a recent purchase, had been heavily modified and used for street and or trackIt had multiple issues with the transmission and rear differential which we also indicated to the customerIn a negative review left on Google, I indicated there also that I am more than willing to remove the transmission and allow him to take his carWe only give people choices and information, we do NOT force them to do the workOnce that work is completed however, we do expect to be paid for the work performedDelivery is not the time to start negotiations over again on the cost of the repairI'm sorry for any misunderstandings, but we dropped what we were doing to make sure *** could continue his trip

I am rejecting this response because:  i clearly informed Gordon that I wanted the $1,400 used transmission, in the presence of my 19 year old daughter.  I told him I had been offered only $2500 for the car, so that is why I would not put in a $2200 rebuild tranmission i left him a voicemail, which he refused to replay after the billing dislike arose  i told old him I would pick up the transmission to expedite the process by a day, because I was stranded on s ride trip from Washington to California  i told him clearly that I would take the risk of a used transmission because I was on the way to California to trade the vehicle for another vehicle already, and a rebuilt transmission did not add any value to me,because the trade was already in place  As a concession to them, I offered to pay them for their ACTUAL costs for  labor and materials, and I asked to speak with the owner.  Gordon said he was the owner.  Gordon said he paid his workers on a flat work basis, so that is why he said he needed over $2000.  He also said he paid $1300 for the transmission He also said that Oregon does not require a written estimate  He also said that Oregon does not have an arbitration process for these disputes he said that my only option was to pay his price, or he would keep the car with a mechanics lien That left me stranded, and I had no choice but to pay under express and written protest  is Gordon the owner?m
Sincerely,

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: after all this Mr. F[redacted] still wants to show lack of respect and integrity and back his business and do the right thing I'm glad he brought up the brakes because yes they did give me an estimate for about 1500 bucks   Because they said my brake cylinders are leaking bad and need to be replaced I was just at the brakes for less about a week and a half before so the next day after I picked up my poor car from you people  I took it to brakes for less to ask them why they did not tell me about my cylinders they pulled the tires off in front of me there is no leakage the cylinders were fine why is that Mr. F[redacted]?  Anyways we never talked about how much the car is worth because it is worth a lot more than $1000 that is insulting and last time I talk to you yes I was trying to reach out since you would not give me the respect and  do that for me and I threw out the option just paid the $500 deductible even though my church [redacted] about the roof and it's going to financially affect me down the road just to work this out and get my car fixed you said nothing about an estimate Mr.  F[redacted] and you never called me back and I have plenty of witnesses that morning that's all what the car looked like before I brought it in even the break place   They were shocked at the damage and the lack of respect and integrity and accountability and to sit there and say it is all damage is ridiculous you can tell  The difference on fresh Dandridge plastic compared to the old weathered but that should be beside the fact when I am sitting there pointing out the damage to my car and pieces of it or falling off in front of me but you are going to tell me it was like that really?  Of coarse you would not Mr. F[redacted] you immediately ran back into the building and left her a pulley Mr. G[redacted] outside to stutter and tell me if I find a used one he will just slap it on for me but that's the best he would do and when I told him they do not make used ones as I'm trying to hold my composure from my nervous breakdown emotionally I was upset and distraught   And overwhelmed   Because there is a lot more damage than just the bumper Phil and the lack of professionalism shocked me and sitting there being told I am wrong and  The last thing your employee wants to say to me as he leaves me in the parking lot in tears is you guys are not responsible while it's in your possession or in your parking lot? Really Mr. F[redacted] not once did you come back out to see if there was anything we could work out I am outside your  shop hysterical in tears and you did nothing you didn't even call me Mr. F[redacted] I am the one that eventually had to get a hold of you where is your accountability for your business for yourself so how are you masking of Mr. F[redacted] and ninth Street auto is to do the right thing and pay for the damages my car  endured wall in their possession and care I feel that accidents do happen but I also feel that if you own a business and something is damaged of the customers while in your care you do the right thing you fix it  you make it right with the customer handshake and honestly I trusted you Mr. F[redacted] my dearest possession and the lack just  Basic integrity because I have seen nothing from you until now this is the most effort I've seen you put in to the situation I need to stop by did not make it right so I'm just asking for the damages to my car be repaired thank youSincerely,[redacted]

WE PURCHASED A REBUILT TRANSMISSION FROM [redacted] COMPANY DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY HAD A UNIT IN STOCK AND THE CUSTOMER WANTED A QUICK TURN AROUND. WE INSTALLED THE TRANSMISSION AND FOUND THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS TIGHT ON THE INPUT SHAFT SO WE REMOVED THE TRANSMISSION, INSTALLED A SECOND...

NEW TORQUE CONVERTER WITH THE SAME RESULTS. WE CONTACTED [redacted] COMPANY WHO MADE A CALL TO THE MANUFACTURER OF THE TORQUE CONVERTER. THEY DISCOVERED THEY HAD A BATCH OF CONVERTERS WITH THE WRONG HUB ON IT. WE PURCHASED A THIRD TORQUE CONVERTER AND INSTALLED THE TRANSMISSION. PERFORMED A FINAL TEST DRIVE AND CONFIRMED ALL OPERATIONS.WHEN CUSTOMER PICKED UP THE VEHICLE HE INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING ROUGH AT IDLE. I WENT OUT AND STARTED THE VEHICLE AND TOOK THE CUSTOMER FOR A TEST DRIVE. AS DIESELS GO, THIS DID NOT RUN OR IDLE AS ROUGH AS MOST AND INDICATED THIS TO THE CUSTOMER. WE PERFORMED NO ENGINE WORK ON THIS VEHICLE. AS PART OF ALL TRANSMISSION INSTALLATIONS A COMPUTER REFLASH IS REQUIRED TO UPDATE THE VEHICLES COMPUTER WITH THE MOST ADVANCED SOFTWARE THAT THE FACTORY HAS WRITTEN FOR IT. THIS VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO [redacted] FOR THIS REFLASH OF THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE PRIOR TO DELIVERY TO THE CUSTOMER. THEY ALSO PERFORMED NO ENGINE WORK ON THIS VEHICLE.MR [redacted] CALLED US FRIDAY 7/31/15 LATE IN THE DAY AND SAID THE TRUCK WAS NOT SHIFTING OUT OF 2ND GEAR. WE ASKED HIM TO DROP IT OFF AT [redacted] FOR THEM TO LOOK AT, BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL 20 MINUTES BEFORE 5PM AND THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO LOOK AT IT UNTIL MONDAY MORNING. WE PUT MR MASCAL INTO A RENTAL CAR UNTIL WE COULD RETURN HIS TRUCK.[redacted] REFLASHED THE TCM ON MONDAY MORNING AND ALSO HOOKED UP THE TRANSMISSION TO THEIR CHRYSLER SIMULATOR AND DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION PRESSURE WAS RUNNING AT 26.5 PSI AND THEIR RECOMMENDATION WAS TO REPLACE THE GOV PRESSURE SENSOR AND SOLENOID.

These are always the hardest issues to deal with for small businesses since it is the customers word vs the businesses word. Mr [redacted] came in and asked for estimates on his 1981 Cadillac Deville for carb adjustment, valve cover gaskets, tune up (plugs, wires, etc., check heater core, fan relay...

for heater, starter, belts, exhaust leak from right manifold, lube, oil & filter, and check the charging system. All of these were issues mr [redacted] said he was having with his vehicle. Brakes were just done at brakes for less.
We gave Mr [redacted] estimates totaling $4143.56 and gently informed him that the car was at best worth $1000 or less and may not be a good candidate for investing this much money into. Mr [redacted] was taking the vehicle back to brakes for less for issues he was having with them and said he would bring the car back.
Customer came back in after about 3 minutes and said we damaged his vehicle while it was here so both Gordon, my operations manager and myself went out to look at his vehicle. The drivers side, rubber insert between the chrome bumper cap and the body was broken due to being extremely brittle from old age. There was white duct tape already on the lower portion of this piece from a previous crack. I looked at the chrome end cap which was covered in dirt and there was absolutely NO marks in it anywhere where a collision with something would have been apparent. I showed this to the customer who ignored this. We explained that these types of things just don't happen in our shop but if they did, our techs would own up to it. We offered at that time if he wanted to try and locate the rubber piece, we would work with him in getting it replaced but we were not going to repair his car.
Mr [redacted] called me then about 2 weeks later and demanded $500 for the deductible and he was just going to turn it into his insurance company and told me we also broke a hub cap and riveted it back together (this hubcap was also different from the other 3 according to Mr [redacted]. I told him I needed to see a written estimate from his body shop and that I would like to speak with my technician about it. I spoke to my technician, who vehemently denied hitting anything with this vehicle and certainly did not rivet a hubcap back together.
We are going to deny any involvement in or admit to any wrongdoing in Mr [redacted]s car damage. We feel that requesting money for damage we did not do is deceptive. We offered to participate in the repair if the customer could find a rubber part for a 1981 vehicle with him, but was not going to just write him a check. We feel that unsubstantiated claims and threats to go on social media and report to the Revdex.com unless we acquiesce to a customers demands show a lack of integrity.
Mr [redacted] was charged nothing for the diagnostic work we performed on his car at the time it was in the shop.
