Ninth Street Towing & Storage Inc Reviews (1)

[redacted] is in process of repaving and restriping their parking lot, which started 10/6. In the response to this complaint, the signage is very clear and has been...

in place for at least three months, probably more. There are 12 signs on the perimeter of the [redacted] lot and two signs on two separate entrances into the [redacted] lot. These signs are on bright yellow posts. The pictures are included. Ninth Street Towing & Storage, Inc. has been towing off that lot for many years and several of our existing signs are in place on that lot.
[redacted] has their sign indicating [redacted] Parking Only"; our sign is in red and black. The sign at the bottom was added by the [redacted] restaurant with the arrows going sideways. These [redacted] signs, WITHOUT the other two signs, are on the sides of their lot as well with the arrows pointing toward their building. That combination of signs indicates a "parking area". The [redacted] signs also state that their parking is "1 Hour Parking". We are also told that [redacted] has a sign in their store and so does the [redacted] restaurant in front of [redacted] warning people to be aware of where they are parking.
For well over two months, [redacted] management has been tagging vehicles with the warnings that vehicles would be towed at the owner's expense. The expectation is that people would see the stickers and stop parking there. That has not been the case. The majority of owners would tear those tags off throw them on the ground and leave, only to return to that [redacted] parking area on their next visit.
in response to the time on the warning stickers, the time noted on the tag is the time the person tagging the vehicle sees it. It does not necessarily when the person parked the vehicle. We have called the police as needed and have been told that no notice is required because proper signage is posted. It does not matter if someone is there one minute or three hours. The property management has the right to request the vehicles to be removed, since the vehicle is not a tenant or visitor for [redacted]
We also realize having a vehicle towed is an emotional experience and we have tried to be understanding of those emotions. Sometimes it is not possible for people to accept personal responsibility for their actions.

When we explain the circumstances, most people realize that the signs are posted and admit that they were not paying attention and did not read the signs. A lot of people have parked there for years, not realizing that a change in management had occurred or that the parking lot was in process of being repaved.
Mr. [redacted] is not the only person to tell people not to park in that area. For the past three weeks, well over 700 people have been told to not park in that area. Those warning people included Property managers of [redacted] and [redacted] at [redacted] tenants of the buildings, people walking their dogs, workers, our drivers and me. Our goal is to stop people from parking on that lot.
As far as Mr. [redacted]'s request, we have no intention of refunding money. He was treated fairly and no differently than anyone else.
