Nissan of Devon Reviews (2)

Review: I purchased a vehcile from Nissan of Devon on Monday, September 22, 2014. The price stated on the internet for the vehicle was $12,645.00. I requested an "ePrice" via their website and was sent an email from Ellen K[redacted] that the car was available and the price was $12,445. I have a copy of this email. After I test drove the vehicle and said I wished to purchase it, I was told the price of the vehicle would be $12,645 + $1,000 which represents Nissan of Devon customer loyalty. I was confused about this arbitrary $1,000 charge as this was not stated at all in the email from Ellen K[redacted]. I was told by Melissa at Nissan of Devon (who no longer is with the company) that this $1000 charge is stated on the website as an additional cost to the sticker price. I then asked to see the website so I could read this caveat, but Melissa was working with another client. A few minutes later I was informed by Kyle, K[redacted] an Internet sales manager, that they would include [redacted] capabilities to the vehicle at no additonal cost - and they would split the customer loyalty charge with me - so only $500. I agreed to the sale - completely forgetting to actually look at the website to see the statement that the Nissan of Devon loyalty was not included in the sales price. So I paid $12,445 for the car + $500 for the Nissan of Devon customer loyalty for a total of $12,945.00 (not including tax, tags, etc.). I was then issued a "We Owe" from the dealer to install [redacted] capabilities and a set of floor mats. When I went home that evening, I remembered that I did not look on the website to see the actual contingency clause for the loyalty charge. I was quite surprised to read this on the website: "Price includes $1,000 Nissan of Devon customer loyalty". So now I was really confused. What did I pay $500 for if the $1000 was already included in the sale price? There is no other menton of this "Nissan of Devon customer loyalty" clause anywhere else on their website. No explanation of what it is, what it entails, etc. On Tuesday, September 23, 2014, I sent an email to Kyle K[redacted], Internet Sales manager (I have retained a copy), explaining my confusion and questioning why I was charged the $500. I did not hear from Kyle on Tuesday, so I called him on Wednesday, September 24 and spoke with him on the phone. He listened to me and said he would have his General Manager, Joe V[redacted], give me a call. A few minutes later, Kyle called me back and left me a voice mail stating that they would honor the $12,445 price and would only charge me their cost to install the [redacted] in the vehicle. I called Kyle back and asked why they were reniging on the [redacted] installation? It was clearly given as a concession and listed on the "We Owe" document, which I have a copy of. Kyle simply said they could not offer the [redacted] complimentary if I was not going to pay the $500 Nissan of Devon customer loyalty fee. I still have no idea what this fee is even for! What do you get for this fee?? I then told Kyle that I was going to stop payment on the check (which I have done) and to have Andy Macedo, the finance person at the dealership, call me with the new figures based on the car sale at $12,445 - tax, tags, etc. and I would issue a new check.

I am very disappointed with the way the dealership is misconstruing the situation. No where on their website is it made clear that the $1,000 needs to be built into the cost of the vehicle. It is very deceptive and quite unsavory.Desired Settlement: I originally wanted Nissan of Devon to honor the agreement they made with me - which is stated on the "We Owe" - and install the [redacted] component into my vehicle. But honestly, I do not trust that they will complete the job satisfactorily at this stage. I just want to pay the new price for the vehicle ($13,647.15) and get my floor mats and call it a day. I will also make certain that I let my plethora of friends and family know not to do business with this dealer in the future. I also plan to comment on various car websites about the dissatisfaction I had with the dealer and their suspicious way of twisting what is stated on their website. Thank you.

Response:

Dealers often advertise the lowest possible price and may include certain incentives that not all customers will qualify to receive. When a price states that it includes certain incentives it is a"net" price that would increase if an incentive is not available to a particular customer. IE: A vehicle advertised with a price of $20,000 INCLUDING a $1000 loyalty rebate would be $21,000 if the custom did not qualify for the loyalty rebate. This is what occurred in this instance. At an agreed upon price of 12945 plus tax we agreed to install [redacted].We ultimately completed the transaction with the customer at the $12445 plus tax and still provided her with brand new mats at no additional charge. While there may have been a misunderstanding regarding the incentive, we believe that the end result was fair to all and the customer paid what she wanted to pay, The final price the customer paid was BELOW the advertised price and included floor mats at no additional charge.

Review: [redacted]

I just want to state that since this car was sold as "certified pre-owned" then I was entitled to floor mats as part of the policy. Nissan of Devon is acting like a special concession was given by providing me with floor mats. I was entitled to them as part of the certified pre owned policy.I have an email stating the price of the car was $12,445 - that is advertising if stated in an email with no other stipulations included in the email. And the "incentives" were never clearly explained to me. Again, very arbitrary. It is fine to close this complaint.

Regards,

Review: I bought a 2010 Nissan [redacted] at the [redacted], PA dealership and I also purchased an extended warranty. In November of 2013 I sold the car to a different dealership and was told that I am entitled to reimbursement for terminating the extended warranty from the dealership I purchased the extended warranty with. So, I went back to Nissan [redacted] to end my extended warranty and get reimbursed for the portion of the contract not used. I filled out all required paperwork and gave them documentation of my sale and was told I would be reimbursed in 4-6 weeks - all this was done November 19th, 2013. I never received anything so I called them - I kept being sent to someone who said they would take care of it but no reimbursement. In March, due to my frustration, I went to the dealership and was asked to fill out same forms again, which I did. In April,I received a letter from the extended warranty company ([redacted]) telling me they received my termination and I should receive my reimbursement in 30 days from the dealership. Again, no reimbursement. It is now June 16th. Everytime I call the dealership, I get shoved off to someone else. The dealership takes no responsibility or accountability other than blaming others. This morning I called the warranty company who said I should have received my reimbursement 30 days from their letter, which I have not. I don't think a company should get away with this type of behavior - treating a customer horribly and not taking any responsibility for follow through. Please help me...Desired Settlement: At this point, I want the money owed me with interest and I want confirmation that they are paying me the correct amount as I do not trust them.
