We brought our car in last week for $2500 in service and convertible top repair and while in their care, their mechanics split the seam. They refuse to take responsibility and are only offering 1/2 of the replacement of the top. After complaining to Consumer Affairs Dept I was given a case number and told me to call the service manager to arrange a service car while they have ours. At 1:44pm the service mgr told me he would call me back when he got an aproval number; I never heard back. The service manager was rude and had a major attitude. I actually told him, "You know, you're not doing yourself any favors with your attitude right now.". I may be disgruntled but as a manager he should know how to deal with disgruntled customers. The mechanics blame the age of the top, but if it was so brittle and fragile as they NOW say it is, why has nobody said a word to us each time we take it in and have you guys fix the mechanics? We've spent $2000 in the last year alone on that top and they NEVER said a word about the top being to fragile to work on. $2000 in the last year "I'm sorry but we just don't feel comfortable working on the top until it's replaced, we're afraid if we do anything it might split or tear."? Never have they talked about the top being too old, as a matter of fact, we brought it back in for bracket replacements on their suggestion. Not even then did they say anything about the top being too old, yet the service manager told me that it would have burst just by toughing it with my finger, it was that old and fragile. NOT SO! The ownership of responsibility for the split in our top is 100% on Nissan of Reno, not the customer who brought a PRISTINE car. It would be one thing if the mechanics had addressed the age of the top, but they didn't, and I am arguing that the top is "old" anyway. We don't have a single leak when it rains, not one. If it was that fragile and brittle, I would have leaks all over. I CALL FOUL!Product_Or_Service: service repairDesired SettlementFor the top to be replaced with a comparable vinyl top, as we have already been told it cannot be repaired but must be replaced. It was in their possession when they split the seam, to accept anything less than a total replacement would not be acceptable or fair.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] General ManagerContact Phone: 775-322-3700Contact Email: [redacted]We have replaced the top with an aftermarket top as was agreed with our customer. The top that was on the car was older and weathered and it did tear while it was being opened and closed to test the operation of the top mechanics. Because the top tore while in our possession we offered to pay for 1/2 the replacement cost, the customer was not satisfied with having to pay the other 1/2. The customer contacted Nissan consumer affairs and they covered the other 1/2 of the cost so that the customer did not have any expense to have a new top installed. When the customer came to get the car they were unhappy because the stitching marks are more visible than they were on their original top, their original top was very faded from the sun. Nissan of Reno and Nissan USA's intention was to pay for a new top and that the customer would be happy to have a new top on their 10 year old vehicle, unfortunately that is not the case and at this time we see no way to resolve this with our customer. My only other comment to respond to the customers description of PRISTINE to rate their vehicle, nothing could be farther from the truth. It is very obvious this car has been not garaged for the majority of it's life and the paint, top and interior show this. This does not make the customers original complaint null but I make the statement to illustrate that the original top was very worn and would of needed replacement very soon. The customer now has a new top and it is unfortunate that they are still unsatisfied.

We purchased a vehicle from Reno Nissan on 8/1/15. We were promised a second key fob, and have yet to receive it. This promise was made in writing to be completed within 30 days of the pick up date 8/9/15. Today was the second time I called them & for the second time I hear that they have no record of this promise. In addition, while speaking to the sales manager, he is not able to find a record of our sale????Product_Or_Service: LeafDesired SettlementI want the key fob & written verification of my vehicles warranty that is in our name, or something that the computer information is correct.Final Consumer Response

Complaint is for doing auto repair work on my vehicle that only lasted 7,258 miles, with "used" parts that had an apparent history of being defective. We paid Nissan of Reno $3,255.15 for their repair work. Our vehicle is an Infinity FX 35, 2004. After Nissan of Reno repair, visible effects of parts and labor failure showed up on my vehicle on 10-25-13, when a main mounting bolt fell out from under the vehicle, and upon further surface inspection showed a broken bushing. Although an 8-month time frame passed, the bolt threads must have been failing prior to this time, as the bolt fell off of the vehicle, and after visual inspection showed the broken bushing. Nissan of Reno informed my wife that they used lock-tight on all of our bolts. Nissan of Reno told us that the 6-month warrant period had already passed. We were not aware that the rear end assembly and bolts had a history of being defective. We believe this to be a latent defect, and that the parts used were already in a state of failure when Nissan of Reno performed the repair work. We requested Nissan of Reno provide towing of the vehicle from Fair Oaks, CA to Reno, NV, repair the vehicle, and provide a temporary vehicle for transportation while the car was being repaired. Nissan of Reno, Invoice #[redacted] (which list an incorrect name of [redacted] - should be [redacted]) states work was completed and paid for on 2-18-13, however work was not completed on that date. When we went to pick up the car on 2-18-13, it made a really bad sound when we started the car, and their technician said the bolts were not tightened and they needed to keep the vehicle longer. The work was not completed until 2-21-13.Product_Or_Service: Auto Repair ServiceOrder_Number: Nissan of Reno InvoiDesired SettlementI am requesting reimbursement from Nissan of Reno in the amount of $2,635.14, calculated from subsequent repair invoices of $2,210.14, plus loss of vehicle use of $425.00 ($17 per day x 25 days).Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]I have not yet spoken with [redacted] about this yet, I was out of town for 10 days when the complaint was issued, I apologize for the late response, I have left a message with our customer, I'm sure he is busy due to the holidays. I think there is a solution that can be made, our service dept believes they can repair the car at no cost to [redacted]. I don't know if he has already had work done to his vehicle yet or the current location, I will wait for him to contact me at [redacted] to hopefully find a solution to repair his car. The repairs are out of warranty and [redacted] was given the option of buying new parts for the repair, he chose to go with used parts due to the cost of the new parts. However Nissan of Reno should be able to assist [redacted] with the current problem. Please have our customer contact me as soon as he can.Final Consumer Response [redacted] called and left message with [redacted] today, 1-2-2014. Phone number [redacted] and [redacted]. Thank You, [redacted]Final Business Response [redacted] has informed me that he has had the work performed at a local repair facility. At this time Nissan of Reno will not be refunding any money to [redacted] due to the fact it was past the 6 month warranty period and Nissan of Reno had not inspected the repair.

On 3/26/2015 I made contact with Nissan of Reno to buy a car. The sale reb name is [redacted] I told him I was look at the note vehicle to buy. At this time they were having a deal on this car . Taking off 2000 off or you could use it as a down payment. It hold him I would use it as a down payment. They then ran a credit check to see what type of load I could get. I asked about a used cars as will, I asked how much I would get as a loan. I was not given a answer . I then was shown a car that had 9950!miles on it and was told that the only car I could get. When I asked abut the car I was not given any information on it. When I asked about a car who had lower mileage on it I wa told my the sale person I would not be able to get a loan on that car. I was told by the sale manager that I could not get any car and they were giving me a deal. Latter that day I was contact by [redacted] car sale and was told I could get a new car with them.Desired SettlementI would like the deal officers they were having on new car or given a car with lower mileage, or out of this transaction. Business Response [redacted] came back in and selected a car he was happy with. I spoke with [redacted] today and he is satisfied with his purchase.Consumer Response They were helpful to me after they found out about the issues I had with the older car and were willing to let me out of the contract.
