Mr.[redacted] of Nix Construction co. built and sold this house now has stop answering my calls, texts & emails about defects in the home & property.Cracking walls, ceilings, hard-wood floors separating, grout in bath rooms cracking, broken window & cabinets, poorly hung front-door can see daylight from under the door causing a huge draft, very poor grading, land scraping, non-energy efficiency heat pump, crown molding separating from ceilings, nails popping out of the walls through out the house, caulking separating from walls in bath rooms and in mud room, gaps between walls and baseboards and quarter round and floors, dishwasher base plate not assembled,water getting in the garage, cracks in the composite siding, water stain in ceiling of screened in porch Desired SettlementAll defects & deficiencies properly fixed & repaired. The house is still under a warranty until September 8, 2014. Business Response A.R. Nix Construction provides a one year warranty on their homes that covers a wide variety of items as well as all manufacturers warranties that may apply. In this particular case, many of the items listed in the complaint have never been mentioned to us. We are aware of some of the warranty issues that need to be addressed, but this is the first mention of many of these issues. The majority of the complaints are typical issues that can be expected with a new home, such as cracking grout, doors not closing properly, etc. All items that will be repaired under warranty. Their home is still under warranty and all issues will be resolved under our warranty guidelines that have been provided to the homeowner. Warranty requests are to be made in writing or by email, which we have not received from this homeowner. We handle all non emergency warranty items at one time around the 11th month of the first year of ownership. Once we receive the homeowners warranty request we will respond in a timely manner as we have always done with every home built to date. As stated in the original complaint, the home is under warranty until September 8, 2014. We will contact the homeowner immediately and explain the warranty procedure again and resolve these issues.
