Nix Golf Carts, Inc. Reviews (1)

I purchased a used Golf cart from them, I was assured that it would work properly for 2-3 years.Since I have received it it has not been able to complete a single round of Golf without the Batteries dying. They want an additional $800 for new Batteries. Or said they will take it back but keep close to $1,000 of my Money. How can you sell a Golf cart that can't make it for 18 holes?I have had this less than a month and have not been able to use it.Product_Or_Service: 2011 Club Car Golf CartOrder_Number: [redacted]Desired SettlementI would like a full refund of the money paid or to have the batteries replaced with a functional set, otherwise I am even willing to pay a portion like Half even though it is not my fault.Business Response We did sell a used golf cart to Mr. [redacted]. The cart was sold as used and with used batteries. Mr. [redacted], as we have now found has a need for more run time than average. Although we agreed to pick through several used carts to provide the best used batteries possible, they were still used. Below is the issue at hand.1-I have told Mr. [redacted] "we have no choice but to agree that the batteries in your cart can not work for you.2-There has been numerous conversations and e-mails where he wants to compare run time and speed of his cart with others, as well as what and price he could now purchase a cart for at another local dealer. I have tried to keep us focused on Nix Golf Carts and his cart as we have no control of the state of other carts or what another dealer says. I should add that upon calling the other dealer, whom I know well, to apologize for him being dragged into this, He told me he has no knowledge of any conversations with Mr. [redacted].3- I have sent my service tech out to revaluate the battery issue. He did find one with a weak cell and switched the battery out with a stronger used battery, as he carried several just in case.By this time we already felt Mr. [redacted] would probably not be happy with anything less than a new set. He had stated that he even needed the cart to go 36 holes on some occasions, this is quite a feat for even a new set.I also had the tech carry a new set in hope of having Mr. [redacted] a cart that could provide the extended run time the used ones could not provide. He was not willing to purchase them and said he just wanted the used ones to work. This service call was not charged a service charge, as I did not feel it should be, even though our warrantee does not include labor. I called a week later to follow up with him and was told by him that he had only played one round, but it did much better. I asked that he call me later on how it performed as I do care to know if there are concerns or problems with any cart we sell or service. It makes no difference to me what the reason is, I still always strive to have 100% satisfied customers. This does not mean I can replace used batteries with new ones at no cost, but I certainly can, in this case provide, deliver, and install new ones without any service or labor fee. 4-We are at a point now where it is obvious used batteries will not work for Mr. [redacted]. I have consulted several times with the rep from my battery distributor who has even offered to speak with Mr. [redacted] on this, but Mr. [redacted] is not interested in speaking with him. I am attaching a letter sent to Mr. [redacted] with the options I was hoping would rectify this situation. His response was that it was unacceptable. In closing I would like to add my history in serving my clients. I have owned and operated a local business for over 22 years and was a manager of it for 18 years before that. In over 40 years, this is only the 2nd time I have had a complaint with the Revdex.com. The 1st was closed with me in good standing, I was told it had no merit. The only reason I felt led to include this is that Nix Golf Carts has only been in business for 2 years, where as [redacted] DBA Nix Upholstery has served the area for over 50 years. Consumer Response Nix changes their story at will.My needs are no different than any other person who purchases a Golf cart to play golf with, you would expect to be able to play 18 Holes of golf. This is my fourth cart, I have no need to talk to some Battery guy, NIX is who I am dealing with.Offering to resolve the problem with their solution being buy more overpriced batteries from me at your expense is not acceptable.I was told that the used batteries should last 2 to 3 years, they didn't last 1 day.I feel that Nix at a minimum should have offered to split the cost of the batteries, I would expect them to pay $400 towards the cost of the new Batteries and to resolve the outstanding Program issues with the cart.Regarding contacting [redacted] I have had several conversations with them, I'm certain ** doesn't remember the name of everyone who contacts him, I have bought 2 carts from ** in the past and wish I had of bought my third one from his company.** quoted me substantially less money for a set of new Batteries than [redacted] was willing to do, he still wanted to profit from his error at my expense.I purchased a set of Trojan t-875 from ** which have already been installed. While [redacted] technician was here he stated that he doesn't think I have the correct program in the cart that I paid Nix $150 for, he is going to come by next week to verify that.I asked Nix several times to verify the program, they keep saying their programer cable is broken and blame [redacted] for not shipping it.Another example of them blaming someone else and deceiving people.Man up and pay for half of the batteries.Do the right thing, it might be a good way to live your life and operate a business.Final Business Response I stand my 1st response. My service tech has contacted [redacted] and gave the code numbers that his tech must have when if goes out to the client.** did say he really did not want to get involvedand asked that we call the client. With where we stand now, I will send [redacted] only if the client calls me, at no charge. I do ask that any correspondence be through e-mail. Since I began this response, the Client called, it did not go well. Also, the company that the code 4 speed control was bought from called me. I told them that one of the things the client was upset over and saying that I was lying about was that I had not installed a code 4. I asked if they could call to verify the purchase of the code 4 and the serial number. They said they would. this company also said they could get me the cable I need to lower the brake speed on the clients cart. Hope this will work, I am going to have my tech call the client, pray they can get it together as the client obviously has no trust in me.
