I am rejecting this response because: I've been shopping at Nostalgia Hobby for ten years or so When I went to the store and made the purchase in question, Joe and I spoke for ten or fifteen minutes about what was going on in our lives since my last visit His kids are off to different jobs so he isn't going to retire My oldest is in college now, etc This is the way we interacted every single time I went into his store for all those years This time was no different Now, in Joe's response, he states that when I came in the store, he quote "remembered me as a 'customer' unquote, but did not remember the returns" That is a quote! Yet we had just spent all that time catching upOne week later when I called about making the return, in his written response he states, quote, "I began to remember EXACTLY TWICE (in all caps) that I had done this before" unquote Okay, so now he remembers "EXACTLY" And he also claims that I used, quote "Exactly the same story" unquoteHe even remembers the words that I said, quote "I did him a solid" unquote He states that this second time was quote "years ago" unquote If this second time was years ago, when did the first time happen? Ten years earlier? Then a sentence later in his response, quote "I may or may not have taken back all or just the unused items." unquote I don't know, but there seems to be so much contradiction in his story In his store, there are no signs stating that he won't accept returns on 'Unopened Items' Look at his website Nothing in any of the photos Nothing written anywhere on the website Come on We are talking about returning brand new items here! Unless he is less than honest in what he is selling, I can't think why any business or store would not accept a return of a brand new item They would be out of business in no time Here's the bottom line, though Regardless of what happens, I can never go back to his store I can never bring my kids and rent race time on his track All these years, I thought we had become friends It's clear in his response, though, when he refers to me as quote "I remember this same man" unquote, and even worse, and I quote "I remembered him as a customer" unquote What happened to friendship? and honesty? empathy? What do you think he would do if I went in his store now?

[redacted] purchased a slot car racing set and two cars in December of 2017. Shortly after he called and requested that he be able to return these items. His reason was he had fallen on hard financial times and could not afford to keep them. As he spoke to me on the phone about this I began to...

remember this same man doing EXACTLY this same thing TWICE before several years before. The first time he, with exactly the same story, I allowed him to return all items. I 'did him a solid' to quote him. The second time, which was years ago, I was less accommodating and I may or may not have taken back all or just the unused items. This last time when he came in I remembered him as a customer but did not remember his returning these items until he began to tell his tale on the phone. In light of the fact that the store clearly has posted sign stating 'no return of electrical items for ANY reason' as I have no control over how these items may have been used or misused or not I have refused to accept any return of these items.
