NJ Short Term Rentals

Review: We rented a furnished apartment by email and e-communications with New Jersey Short term term Rentals, LLC (NJSTR)Apartment was to be professionally cleaned and furnished including with a queen bed size in one of the bedrooms.After 4 days of travel form the West, upon arrival the apartment was filthy. Entrance greasy, carpet not clean, smelly, and only twin beds, kitchen drawers with decomposed food on it, NJSTR offered to wash the carpet and clean the apartment. That was after the fact. We had no choice but to move to a hotel, and refuse the apartment as NJSTR did not deliver the product as agreed. We asked for our money back . June rental, security deposit, and application fee. Rental was refunded. However the security deposit and application fee were not. Stating that by contract if tenant cancelled the lease the security deposit is not refunded.We did not cancel it. We had no choice but to reject the unit, as it was not what we've agreed. This is documented in several emails stating the quality of the unit in their web site .Unit is located at [redacted] The lack of delivering what was agreed upon by contract forced us to move to a hotel. A more expensive alternative.NJSTR owe us the security deposit and the application fees.In addition they cause us disruptins such extra hotel expenses, change of plans, meals, etcDesired Settlement: NJSTR must refund:1. Security deposit = $1,0002. Application fee = $ 45Total = $1,045There are other expenses that were related to my time spent in making the arrangement and the delays on personal plans,but we won't go there. All we want it's to report this scam because this people don't even have an office the letter head in their stationary gives an address for their business that is a mail and boxes place. This is a scam and they shouldn't get to do keep doing this to people.

I am rejecting this response because:

As noted in the cancellation form, we do not agree that the security deposit should be kept by the New Jersey Short term rental policy. Because the product was a scam. The furnished apartment was supposed to have been cleaned professionally ,with everything ready,& have a queen size bed in one of the bedrooms. It was not. Upon arrival. Carpet smelled it didn't looked cleaned at all, the kitchen utensils had food stuck on them as well as the drawers, the knobs to turn light on were brown with grime stuck on them and there was no queen size bed! The second bedroom had a bed smell, we think the linens were dirty as well. This was clearly not what we had agreed upon when we signed the contract. They didn't do their end of that contract.

As a proof that is a scam the rental company called NJSTR publishes in emails to have an office in Suite . When we went to the alleged office found out that the ofice is a mail box.The agent to discuss the matter did not show up either.

As I said, we offered to remedy all of the alleged deficiencies, but this client refused to work with us and told me that there was “nothing I could do that would make her want to move into the apartment.”
