Review: I purchased two designer lamps ([redacted] lamps >$500 ea) from NJ Modern and when my contractor installed the lamp they were of extreme poor quality. The reason I know this is because I had made a previous purchase of the same item and the previous purchase was of exceptional quality. When I asked [redacted] at NJ Modern to replace the two lamps with the one that I had purchased previously he told me there's nothing wrong with the lamps and since I do not have the box that came with them they do not want to exchange the lamps. As these lamps are >$500 ea you would expect better service and NJ Modern even agreed that the two lamps I purchased were of inferior quality. It's obvious that this is a quality control issue on the parts of NJ Modern and they need to remedy this. Note that I am not asking for a refund. I simply wanted NJ Modern to send me the original lamps that I purchased first time since I am putting three lamps together in my dining room and they need to look identical. Even this NJ Modern complained that they cannot honor since I am missing the boxes. I told them when they send me the new lamps I will use the same box to ship back the defective lamps. After all, the boxes for the lamps are the same and I am only asking for replacement!Desired Settlement: I want NJMODERN to send me the original lamp (or something similar) that I purchased the first time. Simple as that!

Let me begin my stating that we appreciate Mr. [redacted] repeat business regret that he is not satisfied with his purchase. According to our records he purchased 2 lamps on our web site, recently which he expected to match a lamp he purchased almost 1 1/2 years ago. There are no assurances stated or implied that anything purchased currently would exactly match something purchased that long ago. I am somewhat perplexed as to why Mr. [redacted] did make a call to us confirm this as our phone number is stated frequently throughout the web site and purchase process.

The lamps he's currently purchased are functional and are as shown on the web site. I have attached images of the original lamp he purchased in 2012 and the lamp he recently purchased. As the customer states, the cable that suspends the lamp is a different color than the the lamp he purchased December 2012. Nevertheless, we offered to discount this lamp purchase or to return the lamps back for a refund. The customer discarded the packaging and refused a discount as he states he wants the original style lamps he purchased which we have no way of knowing if it will be exactly the same as manufacturers often change the manufacturing methods of their products. Mr [redacted] states that the lamps of poor quality but does not specify how it is of poor quality. I have inspected the photos Mr. [redacted] sent and the lamps look virtually identical with the exception of the color of the cable and the mounting cover plate. I am not sure what further we can do to try to satisfy Mr, [redacted] but unfortunately, as I have stated to him, I can not take the lamps back without the original packaging as stated in our Policy which must be agreed to on the web site prior checking out. Again, I want to thank Mr. [redacted] for his business but can not accept a return on these lamps. If I can be of further help in any other way, please do let us know.
