Thank you for your inquiry re Mr***.Mr***'s insurance company had been notified in April regarding approval andreimbursement that is below the actual cost of these specialty contact lenses, with noresponse in returnThe representative for this area no longer is employed by
theorganization of which I was unawareSubsequently, I have contacted provider relations toinquire again into this situation to get some resolve for Mr***.I have contacted Mr*** and explained situation and apologized for the delay and alsoemphasized that the reimbursement is far below the actual cost of the lensesHeunderstood the situation and will wait for a response from the insurance company ofwhich I plan on forwarding all communication to him from his insurance.Unfortunately, patients such as Mr***, who desperately need these contacts to functionvisually and to work in a safe environment fall on deaf ears when insurance is involved.Insurance companies in most cases do not understand the validity of scleral contact lenseswhich in Mr***'s case is his only vestige of sight whereas glasses are of little or no usedue to his condition.As I stated prior, Mr*** understands situation and is willing to wait for insurancecompany response and move forward continuing with us.If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.Thank you for your concern.Dennis M***, NK Optical,LLC
