NKB Motorcycles Reviews (1)

Review: After a collision my motorcycle was taken to NKB to be repaired, After about 4 months of the bike being at the repair shop I finally received it and was happy as can be. After riding it for a week I started noticing things here and there that where not right. I took the bike back to the shop to show them what was wrong... at the time it was a bent foot rest which they bent back. There was also a big crack on the paint of the upper rear cowl that had appeared, I spoke to a professional painter and was told it was due to in-proper prep work. The paint was fixed after some explaining. After about a month a bubble started forming on the fuel tank that would expand with heat and deflate in the shade.. this was concerning to me and I once again spoke to the professional painter and was informed that once again the prep job was not done correctly and fuel had eaten away at the bondo from a repair that was done to the tank and would eventually eat away at the paint. This would be the second problem Iv'e had with the paint job. I took it back to the repair facility and was talked into take the bike apart myself, and bringing the pieces to them to be painted..( I had to do their job.) I did so and took everything apart and brought them the pieces to be painted, In the end it was all the bike that needed to be repainted so there would be no mis-matching colors. A week went by and I got all my pieces back. I put my bike together and was happy hoping everything was done an over with. Then one day while siting looking at my bike I noticed what looked like a finger print on the front of the bike and came to realize it was under the clear coat... and this again was due to in-proper prep job.. and this imperfection is in multiple parts of the bike. I spoke to [redacted] the owner and once again was told to take my bike apart and take it to the painter himself this time. I should not have to do their job on what was about a 8 thousand dollar job charged to the insurance!Desired Settlement: I do not trust their ability to find a suitable painter to do the job right. I would like to be able to find a painter myself and have my 2012 GSXR-750 painted by a professional! not a wood stainer that paints motorcycles on the side. I would like NKB to pay the fees to be able to paint my motorcycle and replace missing pieces that where taken off to be painted. Such as tank protector, heat shields (OEM), bushings, and decals which would cost me hundreds to replace myself.

Response:

To Whom It May Concern,

We were very sorry to read this complaint. At NKB Motorcycles, customer satisfaction is of highest importance.

We were surprised to receive this letter as the last correspondence from this customer was that of a very satisfied client. He brought his 2012 Suzuki GSXR 750 to us as a crash repair in February of 2013. After he took the vehicle he came back a few weeks later with concerns about the paint. We noticed that the motorcycle had been dropped and there was damage to additional fairings unrelated to his initial paint complaint. We addresed the paint problem and it was fixed. We also had the painter repaint the fairings that the customer damaged when he dropped his bike the second time. We paid for the second paint job as well as the repair of the fairings (damage he did when he dropped it the second time) because of our customer satisfaction beliefs and standards. At this time, we are unsure of what, if any, additional damage this customer may or may not have done to his motorcycle but we are always more that happy to speak about his concerns.

Sincerely,

NKB Motorcycles

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

There is no additional damage to the bike. There is no reason for your busines's custumer to do the work of taking the bike appart so you don't have to pay your employee's the labor. The imperfections of the pain job plus mis alignment of the frame have been shown to [redacted] by [redacted] and his responce was, "i don't want to touch the bike" I want you NKB to do all the physical work as you should, and solve the problem by repainting painter's mistakes, and replacing all decals bushings and heat shields on the motorcycle to manufacture's standards.

I dont want to just "talk" about it.

Regards,
