Review: Replace roof shingles and cut out ridge and install ridge master ventilation system. Work completed per contractor NKI Builders, subbed work to [redacted],Pa, met with NKI representative Todd K[redacted] 11/19/10 with conc[redacted]s over raised shingles and ridge ventilation. Todd K[redacted] assured us that after inspection the shingles and ridge ventilation was installed properly. 2/18/11 wind of 30 to 40 milesper hour removed 11, 4 foot strips of shingles. NKI notified, NKI contacted [redacted], they came out and replaced. 2/21/11, talked with NKI regarding damage that occurred possible water damage, does not feel shingle damage, this can occur due to time of year put on. Will replace and seal if occurs.2/26/11 another shingle is loose near oil chimney, called [redacted] no response. 2/27/11, called NKI no response, wrote letter to NKI, presented letter to NKI representative Todd K[redacted], Todd read letter came out to house before pending storm and sealed area in question, 2 shingles need replacing.3/1/11 Talked with Tom K[redacted] about 2 shingles needing replacement. 3/2/11, drafted letter of items including review of contract to ensure work was completed. Asked for contact for weekend repairs for loose shingles. Received answering machine number to call on weekends. 3/4/11, 2 shingles still not repaired from previous storm with impending storm need repair. 3/8/11 owner [redacted] came out put reinforced shingles on area of concern. 1/14/14, had water pouring in around chimney, called emergency service contractor [redacted] to stop current leaking, informed through quote would cost 1195 dollars to recap peak of roof due to inferior workmanship. Informed Todd K[redacted] of problem, he came out inspected roof and indicated ridge cap and ventilation was acceptable. Todd K[redacted], said that was ridiculously high price and informed me to be careful with [redacted], may not be reliable. 1/17/14, contacted [redacted], a sub that NKI uses, they inspected and informed me through quote and in person that the ridge shingles used were inferior and too tight, ridge ventilation insuffient will cause damage, need replacing.Cost to repair and fix $2100. I am holding NKI Builders responsible for the inferior work they subbed out to [redacted].Desired Settlement: NKI admit fault and reimburse in the sum of 2100 dollars for repairs performed by contractor [redacted]
