NMA Legal Network Reviews (1)

Review: [redacted] and [redacted] explanation of how we were deceived by these agencies: 2013-2014My first conversation with [redacted] was on March 19, 2013, when my hours were reduced more and we were falling behind on our mortgage. I had already contacted our lender (Provident Funding) and explained what was happening to our finances. I was told by our lender that they would give me an additional 30 days to make two payments, but would not accept one payment at that time, it was their policy. I was able to secure another part time job to make up for the hours and we were able to make the promised two payments within the allotted time frame. Knowing that my second position was only temporary and it was only a matter of time before we were back in that position again I contacted [redacted] and explained that for now we were ok, but would most likely be contacting his company in the very near future. As predicted we found ourselves needing the help of NMA Legal Network so I contacted [redacted] again. I explained that in April of 2010 we had modified our loan and wanted to know if they could help us either do a second modification or get us more time to pay the arrearage. We were trying to protect ourselves from losing our home. We were told that we could only go through another modification if our mortgage was 30 days behind and I was told to call him (Pat [redacted]) as soon as possible to see if we passed or failed what he referred to as the Net Present Value Test (A Government Worksheet to help determine who is eligible and who was not.On June 3, 2013 we contacted NMA [redacted] to tell him we had contacted our lender and had attempted to modify directly with them. We explained that I had been let go from my first position due to lack of work and my second job's hours were being reduced. We told [redacted] that I had filed for unemployment, but my first employer was trying to prevent me from collecting. This whole process of appealing Unemployment was holding up any additional income and we felt we needed NMA to help us modify. We then engaged NMA Legal Network to aid in the modification process; they in turn contacted The Law Office of [redacted] and [redacted]. I was told that Attorney [redacted] would be in touch with us shortly. (Contract and payment schedule attached.)We received paperwork from Provident Funding our lender in regards to the modification stating that they would offer us a repayment plan of an additional 600.00 a month and we had 30 days to respond. I sent this paperwork to our attorney's office and NMA Legal Network via fax and email and asked that they try to get our lender to extend the time frame to reduce the payment and hopefully by then we would be able to start paying our mortgage again. On June 11 we were assured that we were in good hands with this Law Firm by NMA Legal Network and it provided service suspension of any sale of the house.Every notification we received from our lender was scanned or faxed to the law firm within 24 hours of receiving it. After many emails and phones calls to the law firm and to NMA Legal Network we finally received an email from [redacted] at NMA Legal Network stating that someone named [redacted] was trying to contact us and we immediately returned the call to him only to receive a voice mail. All of this took place on July 3, 2013 even at this time after requesting many times to both the law firm and NMA Legal Network we still had not spo[redacted] with Attorney [redacted].On August 2, 2013 we received a request from [redacted] for updated information pay stubs and bank statements and a profit and loss statement for the small farm we ran. I explained that I had been very ill and had been hospitalized on July 29 and 30, 2013 and would try to get the profit and loss done that week-end and scanned in the other paperwork he requested and sent it to him. Still at this time we requested again to speak with Attorney [redacted] and still never received a phone call or an email from him. On August 4, 2013 I sent over the profit and loss statement from the farm as promised. On August 21, 2013 I still had not heard from this woman named [redacted] who was supposed to be handling my modification. I contacted [redacted] at NMA Legal Network again and asked that he find out why she was not contacting me.Attached please find the email she sent on October 1, 2013. No one had ever contacted us in regards to the repayment and the now the time limit had expired even though I had made several attempts to get in touch with someone at [redacted]'s law office. Finally I did receive a call from [redacted] in regards to the repayment he became indignant and said he would settle our mortgage that day if that is what we wanted. We told him once again that we needed more time to do the repayment we couldn't afford those large payments and if they could spread it out more we could manage. On July 28, 2013 I was offered my current position at the Law Office of [redacted] and [redacted], but due to my illness was not able to begin working until August 1, 2013. We explained that given a smaller amount each month in addition to the mortgage payment we could afford that and wanted to settle as soon as possible. We were told that we qualified for a Tier 2 modification and this would be much better for us.On August 21 we received a phone call from [redacted] and attached is what she gave me for an update on our case.On October 1, 2013 we were at our wits end, because no one had contacted us and we were getting further and further behind in the mortgage. On November 4, 2013 after emails to [redacted] and [redacted] and phone calls to The [redacted] Law Office (which I was told was disconnected) [redacted] sent me a very curt message stating that [redacted] had passed away on October 15, 2013 and they had moved their office. She also stated at that time that she had requested informatioDesired Settlement: I would like my $3195.00 dollars returned to me due to the fact that they did not resolve my issue in a timely manner it is still pending and it is over 9 months now.
