I am On automatice delivery & they Refused to deliver oil in January-even when I'm paying my billI have been with Noel's for over five years and on automatic service. After coming home from vacation on January 19th, Sunday evening my house was extremely cold. I had NO hot water or HEAT. I went to bed shivering under the blankets, I could not sleep, wondering why they would do this, HOW could they do this? and wondering if all my pipes would break in this fringed cold. I called Noel's first thing Monday AM, and they told me they needed over [redacted] up front if I wanted oil delivered. Mind you I have been paying on my bill right along. I told them to deliver,and was ready with a credit card, and they refused me. I feel this is a health issue also because in this weather I could freeze to death, what if I had my grand children over? I want these people not to hurt others as they did me. Can they legally do this?Desired SettlementI should get FREE oil for a year & then I don't want to hear from these folks again, any monies owed should be waived.Business Response Hi [redacted],Thank you for the opportunity to speak with you yesterday regarding the matter below.As I mentioned to you at the time we never refused to deliver Mr. [redacted] oil, he was an automatic delivery customer and received his last delivery from us on April 30, 2013. Unfortunately, despite our payment terms being 30 days to continue to receive automatic deliveries Mr. [redacted] still had a balance from that delivery of [redacted] When he called for oil in January he was informed that he would have to pay for the delivery and could still continue to make payments on the balance but there was no way for us to extend him any more money on credit. At the time he offered to pay us [redacted] We are very accommodating to all of our customers and certainly do our best to work with them when issues arise. As I think you can see this was a more than reasonable request on our part given the circumstances, perhaps he should have forgone his vacation and used that money for his oil bill. In most cases with a balance as old as his we would have already turned this over for collection but given that he was attempting to make intermittent payments we continued to work with him. Last but not least given his unreasonable request of a resolution I certainly hope that you discredit the entire complaint. How anyone who still owes us over [redacted] from a delivery that is approaching a year old believes that not only should the debt be forgiven but should receive FREE oil for a year is ludicrous. The part of the resolution that I do accept is to be paid for the service we provided and then Mr. [redacted] go find another oil company that will extend him in excess of [redacted] in credit for going on a year's time.
