In response to mr *** complaint, no I was not going to go above and beyond the project contract as he wantedfurthermore, I had asked him not to try and hire my employee for (under the table / behind my back) work as he tried 3-different timesThe system was installed perfectly
and it took 21/DAYS TO INSTALL after running all of the extra wires and the electrical stuff he wanted my guys to doWhen it came time to go back and give him more IEanother shelfhe was simply not attainable no answer on his sideThank you and the custom made tv niche took days 8hrs a day to build with another 21/2days to install and he and his wife loved it at the time. And only paid at the VERY end
Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: Unfortunately, Mr. [redacted] response has numerous inaccuracies. We did not pay in full at the end as he stated, we paid $1000 up front then $1500 towards the end. I did not try to "hire his guys under the table". The only job I tried to schedule his employees to do was the work I had discussed with Mr. [redacted], which was sadly left unfinished (cabinet doors were never installed). One of his employees did mention that he did work on his own on weekends when he was not working for Mr. [redacted], and we told him we may call him in the future. However, we never pursued this (as we have been trying to complete the project we hired Mr. [redacted] for and have not begun any additional projects on our home). When Mr. [redacted] accused me of this toward the end of our project, it was via text. I immediately called him to get to try to get to the bottom of what was hopefully a misunderstanding and not an outright lie, but Mr. [redacted] did not answer my phone call. As for the additional shelf, this was a simple misunderstanding on our part. We had understood from his employee that another shelf would be present, but when we asked Mr. [redacted], he stated this was not the case and we did not attempt to pursue it further as we had already had a difficult time getting Mr. [redacted] to meet mutually agreed upon deadlines or even answer his phone a majority of the time. Furthermore, to say that my wife and I were satisfied with his work is far from the truth. In fact, we attempted to get Mr. [redacted] to fix a mistake that he himself admitted was "90% his fault", but he asked us to pay him an additional $700 to do so. We were unwilling to do this as it exceeded our budget and we had already had an unpleasant dealing with him, so we settled for a workaround that was not what we had asked for or wanted since it was clear Mr. [redacted] was unwilling to resolve the issue to our liking. Since issuing our complaint, we had a different contractor come to our home and fix some of the mistakes. You can see from the pictures submitted the before and after photos. During this process, it became apparent that the work we received from Mr. [redacted] was even worse than we initially thought. An infestation of ants was found in one portion of the wood used to make the niche (video attached of our contractor cutting into the wood and ants crawling out of the wood). This has never been a problem in our home; in fact, we have quarterly pest control spray our home as a preventative measure. For reference, the wood being cut into in the video is solely the structure that Mr. [redacted] built. It does not open into our preexisting walls. The shelves that Mr. [redacted] built, which looked very nice upon initial installation, have already warped and are coming apart. We have cared for them as instructed by Mr. [redacted], yet our shelves and even cabinet doors become more warped by the day. It is becoming clear that the shelves & doors will need to be replaced in the near future. We have provided photos of the shelves as well for your reference. Regards,[redacted]
