The client's complaint was somewhat spelled out wrong, as he stated that the stain had not soaked into the wood and not evenly. The truth is that the stain he chose was a one(l) coat cover stain and in some areas, it totally soaked in to the point that it looked like it had not been stained. My contract stated word for word (one(l) coat of stain on deck, house and garage). Yes I did tell him I would put another coat on, however I feel he should pay labor. I have contacted the manufacturer of the stain and they will help with a small amount of stain and I would help on the remaining stain. Manufacturer stated that the stain acts differently on different types of wood. I have contacted the client and am going to meet him at his place to try to resolve the issue. I feel I am between a rock and a hard spot if he refuses to pay additional labor as I stated the contract was for one coat not two. I do not feel this was a ligitiment complaint to Revdex.com of Western PA.
Thank You,

Review: [redacted]My log home had some water damage and rotten wood that needed replaced. I hired Norman B Whiteley Log Homes to cut out the rotten wood and replace it, reseal the joints between the logs, and seal and stain the whole house. It had rained intermittently during the days that he applied the stain and it was raining the day he finished up. The contract required payment in full upon completion of the work and it appeared to be complete so I paid him.The next day as I walked around the house I could see that the stain was not even and had not soaked into the wood in many places. I called Mr. [redacted] to inform him of the problem and he came out to look at it. He took pictures and promised to return to put another coat of stain on the home. several months went by all the while he kept promising to come back next week, next week, next week...... and so on. Its now been over a year and he has not made good on his promise to return to complete the work.Desired Settlement: I want Mr. Whiteley to make good on his promise to return to complete the job by putting a second coat of stain/sealer on the house.
