Norman Baker

Review: In June, 2013 I hired contractor, Mr. Norman Baker to purchase and install 6 sets of outside window shutters and paint my existing two front doors. On June 06, 2013 I gave Mr. Baker a payment of $635.00 (in check form) to pay for the 6 sets of shutters plus paint according to his contract #750843. In Early July, 2013 Mr. Baker contacted me and told me the wrong color of shutters were sent to him and he assured me that he would return them and reorder the correct color that I had ordered. I called Mr. Baker on October 21, 2013 to check on the status of my product and Mr. Baker told me that he had received my shutters just two weeks prior and he would contact me within a few weeks to setup an installation date. No communication until I called him on June 25, 2014 at which time he asked me if I would be available the week of July 4th, 2014 for him to install my shutters and complete my job. I assured Mr. Baker that I was available and he told me he would call me back on June 27, 2014 to schedule the installation. Yet again no communication until I contacted him again on August 8, 2015 at which time I made it very clear to Mr. Baker that I no longer needed him to install the shutters, I just needed the shutters of which I had already paid him for 2 years prior. Mr. Baker assured me that he would contact me on August 10, 2015 to schedule a delivery time of the shutters. Again Mr. Baker did not follow through on his word. I contacted Mr. Baker again on August 15, 2015 to follow up at which time Mr. Baker would not accept my call leaving me the only option of leaving him a voice mail stating once again that I needed the shutters that I had already paid for and to contact me immediately. To date there has been no response. I found out on August 26, 2015 that Mr. Baker does not have a contractors license of which he told me he did so I am in the process of filing a claim with the State Board of Contractors.Desired Settlement: It is obvious now that Mr. Baker never ordered nor had my shutters. I expect/demand a refund in full of $635.00 that I paid him in June, 2013.

I cannot accept the offer until I have my money paid over two years ago in advance in my possession. Obviously Mr. Baker cannot be trusted on his word only. I will let you know when I receive the refund. Thank you
