Review: Hired above stated contractor to build steps and replace decking to current / existing deck.home owner stated the new additional steps are to match the existing staircase on the deck.Contractor built new staircase with approximately 1/2" space between the 2 pieces of the decking material, contractor didn't include the kit plate ( even though existing deck has kick plate) or riser on the new staircase built. Staircase built resembles stadium seating appearance and homeowner is not happy with work that is completed to date.Desired Settlement: Homeowner has asked contractor to remove the step treads, add riser / kick plate and replace the treads to reduce the gap between to 2 pieces of the deck material to match existing deck the way that was discussed.Homeowner offered to split the cost of the additional materials needed to be used for the riser/kick plate. Contractor is not willing to compromise and stated he wants to be paid for the additional labor even though he did not build it to match our existing deck
