North American Van Lines broke a number of pieces of our furniture on the move and offered a paltry compensation despite our purchase of additional insurance and an itemized list of high-value itemsBased on our experience, I wouldn't recommend this mover

In the winter of 2015, I made a reservation with a local agent of North American Van Lines to move our household belongings from New Hampshire to Idaho The reservation was made five months prior to the move Two days before the move, we were to have received a phone call, indicating when the driver would arrive No such phone call was received On the day of the move, at 2pm the driver had still not arrived We called our agent, no answer Left message Agent returned our call, indicating the driver was no longer coming and would have to wait four days for household items to be moved Luckily (we thought) a local company arrived the next day to move our items to a holding facility until NAVL driver could pick up and move across country We thought all was well Eight days later, we received a call informing us that our items were still at a holding facility in Massachusetts For the next three weeks, our agent never returned our calls; we received broken promises and no good news After many phone calls, emails, and negotiations, NAVL found a driver to move our items to a holding facility in Idaho that would then use a local company to pick up our items and move to our home After roughly thirty days, staying with family members, in hotels, and sleeping in sleeping bags, our household items arrived at our new home Our possessions had been loaded and unloaded a total of four times (meaning four separate occasions) NAVL made us pay them the full amount due, though they did not deliver within agreed upon time They were almost days past delivery date Did I mention that we have four small children who endured this process too? I recommend using a company such as ABF or a moving truck that you can drive If you would like a company to load and unload your items, schedule a local company to help you on either end I do not recommend North American Van Lines

We were so pleased with our service on our recent move from Butler PA to Port St Lucie Florida. Specifically our driver [redacted] was exceptionally great. Always on time efficient personable and really helpful. We were pleasantly surprised that after our goofs were loaded and weighed we actually were charged less than the quoted amount! I would definitely recommend them!

The Willoughby / Cleveland NorthAmerican Moving Services/Moving Solutions company has been nothing but an inconvenience.

After receiving notification from Overstock that the company would be scheduling my delivery service, I had to wait 3 days, 3 unreturned voicemails and countless calls before someone in logistics by chance answered the phone.

After setting up a time for my couch to be delivered, I arranged to work from home during the five hour delivery window. Despite saying I would be given a 30 minute notice prior to arrival, the delivery men arrived without notice. This would not have been an issue if they had remembered to load the couch onto the truck in the first place.

After having the truck parked in the middle of the street for 30 minutes, I am informed that there was a mistake and my couch had not been loaded onto the truck and that it would be days later before an attempt could be made to deliver it again,

Several unreturned voicemail's later to management and to logistics, I only again by chance have someone answer the phone and reschedule delivery. Unfortunately given my travel schedule for work I had to have someone else wait at the house between 2 - 6 for the delivery.

Again after several unanswered calls from 6:30pm - 7:30pm, the driver calls me to notify me that they will be there shortly. I let me friend who is patiently waiting know. 2 hours late, the delivery men arrive with the couch.

The lack of communication, managements lack of respect and inability/willingness to make up for their mistake gives me zero faith in the company. I understand that incidents happen, but their total disregard for their customers time and money speaks volumes about their service.

North American set up our move in early June, took a check and gave me delivery dates of June 24 to June 26. It is now July 10, and not only do we not have our furniture, but they are unable to give me a date when it will even get on a truck. After 5 "we'll call you back" responses, we are getting ticked off. We are living in a house with a patio table and a blow up bed. There appears to be no way to get any response from them.

My moving experience with NAVL has been a complete nightmare. While the local company associated with them picked up my belongings on time and on schedule. The corporate entity responsible for delivering has not produced similar results. While my contract stated a 2 week delivery window, the 2 week window came and went and went and went. The corporate office has given an apology for the delay but there has still been no action in delivering my items.

No one should ever use NAVL!!

NAVL hired thieves to take a book of checks, my stereo and speakers, ray ban sunglasses, GAO Schwartz mounted toy engines given to my husband by his dad, coffee grinder,Hummel figurine. NAVL shows no remorse. Take your money and run. I just had to,shut down my checking account because the thief is using my account by phone to charge large sums. Thank you NAVL. Thanks for not returning my calls and how you want nothing to with me. I hope I can hurt your business in some small way or large way. I'll keep trying!
NAVL also is a looser, I.e. They lose all your things when you move. I'm missing lamps, so many dishes I had to buy a new set, a box of photos, afghans I made as a child,, silverware, framed art, and more.
NAVL should not be in the moving business. This experience was horrific for me. Buyer beware!

My experience with North American van lines has been very bad. I was giving a date in which my stuff was picked up two and a half weeks after they picked up my stuff to where it would be dropped off. I moved two states away. The last day in which my belongings should of been here I had to call them to see why my stuff wasn't in my possession. The lady told me that the driver couldn't fit my stuff in his truck so it had to wait. It has been a inconvenience for me and my family because of our stuff not arriving when they said it would be. So now it will be another week and a half before we get our belongings. This company will of had our stuff for about a month when and if we even get it on the day they told us. I will never recomend this company to anyone. They have no customer service and don't care about their customers. Spending almost $1,000 dollars you think that they would treat us good.

My husband & I recently moved from the Joliet, IL area. to Sedona , Az. We interviewed many moving companies to compare prices as we had a grand piano & a spinet piano plus three floors of furniture T.V.'s, clothes etc. etc. Our load alone filled nearly half of a monster semi.
North American's "move consultant" [redacted] came to our home & gave us the best price - [redacted] was very knowledgeable & showed a sincere interest in our move.
We were contacted by Ms. [redacted] Co-ordinator for North American who gave us a date & time the semi would be at our home. I called her many times with questions on time of arrival, packing & their "pricelock gauarantee " which was positively true ! She always returned my calls right away & was a fantastic help in the monumental experience.
Finally on Nov. 13th 2014 at 8:30 am the van arrived (as promised) as we were met by [redacted] & [redacted] who were without a doubt two of the hardest working & efficient men my husband & I had ever met. They worked the entire day, moved both piano's with extreme care & told us our belongings would be at our Sedona address between the 19th & 25th of Nov. [redacted] kept in touch with us by phone letting us know when to expect our furniture. It was here on Nov. 19th ! We were in our home waiting when [redacted] & [redacted] pulled up & began unloading all our belongings with the same care they packed it all. They were absolutely unbelievable in their care & concern for our satisfaction ..Everything was in perfect condition not a scratch!

North American Van Lines hired thieves to move me. Things missing: ray ban eyeglasses, a Hummel figurine, a book of personally checks,, y coffee grinder and prayer bus, my stereo , speakers and many music cds.
They will not call me back nor take responsibility for this theft.
I have many things lost by North American such as my daulyndishes, sulverware, lamps, photos, afghans I made as a child, some of my embroidery work, and many other things.
North American is not a mover. It a thief and loser,

Our experience with North American Van Lines has been an absolute nightmare. We were treated with such disregard and disrespect from the agents and customer service after we found out our belongings were taken in the opposite direction and no one notified us the driver quit. It wasn't until we called that day our stuff was suppose to arrive that the driver quit. Again, the lack of communication is unbelievable and to top it off no one was apologetic. Then we were told a handful of different days our stuff would arrive and it never did. After 4 long weeks of being completely displaced, causing further out of pocket costs, our stuff finally arrived. I would never recommend this company to anyone, frankly I consider them to have the worst business practice. How do you delay shipment by 4 weeks and still have us pay full price for this?
